  • Commerce helped bring 40+ new child care slots to Bellevue! Congratulations to Temple B'nai Torah for its new building at the Solomike Early Childhood Center. They recently celebrated with a ribbon cutting and grand opening event. Commerce’s Early Learning Facilities program invested $1 million to build early learning spaces, including five classrooms, kitchen, and restrooms. ELF assists early learning providers to expand, remodel or build their facilities, addressing child care shortages for families across the state, especially low-income households.

  • We are saddened by the unexpected passing of state Senator Bill Ramos. He brought unmatched passion, energy, and warmth to everything he did – always moving, listening, and committed to public service. He led on issues and policies shared by Commerce that strengthen communities and served as a former Washington Public Works Board member. Senator Ramos approached his work with a deep curiosity, integrity, and genuine care for the people of Washington. He made our government better, and his passing is a profound loss.

    • State Senator Bill Ramos wears a blue suit and glasses and smiles while seated at a desk in a legislative chamber.
  • Director Joe Nguyễn sat down with “Inside Olympia” host Austin Jenkins last week to discuss his transition from state senator to leading Commerce. He shared insights on what we're building at Commerce - and how we're focused on delivering meaningful results for communities across Washington. From housing and clean energy to tariffs and the state economy, the conversation covers some of the biggest issues facing our state. It's well worth a watch: https://lnkd.in/gkcsVWm4
