April 15th, 2025 A great day for baseball. A celebration of Jackie Robinson’s legacy. And an unforgettable moment to throw out the first pitch at the Hillsboro Hops game. As the first person of color to Chair the Board of Directors for the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, I carry that honor with pride—because representation matters. It matters to our community. It matters to our businesses. And it matters to the next generation of business leaders, elected officials, and change-makers—especially those from historically marginalized communities. At a time when political forces try to erase our history and dim our brilliance, we say no more. We will continue to show up, stand strong, and shine even brighter. To every young person out there: Work toward your dreams. Set your goals. And keep your head held high. You are seen. You are needed. You are powerful. It was also a proud moment to see several Black-owned businesses from the Black Advisory Business Council in attendance, showcasing their products and services to fans and families. Visibility and opportunity are everything—and we’re no done yet!! #JackieRobinsonDay #RepresentationMatters #BlackExcellence #WashingtonCounty #HillsboroHops #Leadership #EquityInAction #ChamberOfCommerce #BusinessLeadership #CommunityEmpowerment #BlackOwnedBusinesses #WorkForYourDreams #StandStrong #LiveWithPurpose #KeepPushing
