New permanent lanes on Interstate 26 in Henderson County are now open, marking a significant milestone in one of western North Carolina’s largest transportation projects. The newly opened lanes span from U.S. 64 (exit 40) to Airport Road (exit 49), providing smoother and safer travel for drivers. #ArcherWestern and Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc. rebuilt this section of interstate from the ground up for NCDOT. Crews replaced bridges on and over the interstate, they upgraded all aspects of drainage, established new roadbed under the concrete, and built 62 lane miles of new interstate plus shoulders, guardrail and walls. Our team also constructed two new rest areas with expanded facilities and features. https://lnkd.in/g-HZAV98 #WalshAtWork #ArcherWrightJV #construction #Infrastructure

Beacon Health System shares Walsh Construction’s animated video showing how the core of the new Memorial Hospital of South Bend patient tower will tie into the steel framing, which is being built over the former heart and vascular center. “The Walsh Construction project team used building information modeling to coordinate all of the patient tower’s structural steel erection along with the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection utilities that will be installed throughout the building,” said Eric Radloff, VP of Private Healthcare at Walsh Construction. “This model shows the sequence of how the steel will be installed and a fly-through of the mechanical room that will support the new intensive care unit and the patient room floors.” Walsh is leading the effort to build the new 10-story patient bed tower, which will include seven new patient care floors, a renovation and expansion of the Intensive Care Unit, and the redesign and renovation of other areas and departments across the downtown hospital campus. https://lnkd.in/gjBash9u

Water independence is critical for communities, ensuring reliable access to clean water amidst population growth, drought, and rising costs of imported supplies. For Edmond, Oklahoma, the Arcadia Lake Water Treatment Plant Expansion Project will deliver this autonomy by boosting capacity from 12 to 30MGD, utilizing Arcadia Lake to meet its rising demands. This expansion will allow Edmond to reduce reliance on Oklahoma City’s water, enhance drought resilience with new storage and treatment systems, and secure a sustainable supply. #ArcherWestern is proud to be leading the construction, where work continues at the new high lift pump station. The electrical, mechanical, masonry and roofing work continues including the installation of the roof system. The granular activated carbon (GAC) filter building slab and the walls to enclose the structure are completed. Effluent piping is currently being installed, and both of the four million gallon clearwell tanks are nearly complete. #WalshAtWork #NationalWaterWeek #waterindependence #watertreatment

Shout-out to our Archer Western team in Lakewood, Colorado, they’re not just committed to improving local water infrastructure, but also working to make a difference in the community and beyond. They recently partnered with Feed My Starving Children and assisted with unloading trucks, setting up for the event and rolled up their sleeves to fill food packets. Those packets are now shipping out worldwide, bringing meals to kids in need. #WalshAtWork #community

Happy to host students from ACE Mentor Chicago to explore the Red-Purple Modernization and take a firsthand look at this impressive infrastructure project! After a safety briefing, the tour commenced at Belmont station, where students observed the new track structure, concrete columns and noise walls. They passed by the Clark Relay House, learning how cables beneath the bridge deck power the trains and signals, and examined the rehabilitated Brown Line structure, noting the contrast between the noisy open steel deck and the quieter concrete closed deck on the upgraded 100-year-old steel framework. The group also viewed the relocated Vaultravers Building, discussing the logistical challenges of moving it to a better alignment, before concluding at the North Mainline structure with discussions about environmental impact, community engagement, and urban design challenges. #WalshAtWork Fluor Corporation Chicago Transit Authority

𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 / 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 / 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 - The success of the Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility Expansion in Roswell, Georgia is the result of a robust partnership, shared dedication and passion among Fulton County Government, #ArcherWestern and Brown and Caldwell, who collaborated seamlessly through a progressive design-build approach. This synergy enabled the team to navigate challenges like integrating advanced technologies, such as membrane filtration and biological nutrient removal, while replacing aging infrastructure and minimizing community disruption. Their collective commitment to quality, efficiency, and environmental goals ensured the facility’s capacity increased to 32 million gallons per day, reduced river discharges by up to 50%, and delivered a sustainable solution for North Fulton County’s future, all completed by 2024 as planned. #WalshAtWork #NationalWaterWeek #partnership #innovation #wastewatertreatment
