Let your possibilities soar this summer at Rosie’s Girls Aviation! VWW is collaborating with Burlington Technical Center (BTC) for a special, three-day Rosie’s Girls camp focused on aviation and aerospace June 16 - 18. Campers will get an up-close look at different aircraft, meet industry leaders, and gain hands-on experience with basic tools and processes of airplane mechanics. Our first Trailblazers class of 2025 kicked off in South Burlington last week. 15 participants are on a new journey of learning and empowerment. After getting to know each other and creating group agreements, they got to work exploring hand and power tools. We are so inspired by their eagerness to jump right in! Last week we hosted Career Challenge Day at Randolph Technical Career Center. 104 girls and gender-expansive students from local middle schools joined us for a day of hands-on activities. From welding in Manufacturing and Fabrication to operating an excavator in Diversified Agriculture, students explored all that Randolph Technical Career Center has to offer!

For the first time in 20 years, the gender wage gap has widened, with women paid 83 cents for every dollar that men made in 2023. Over the course of a 40-year career, the wage gap results in a loss of approximately $462,000 for women, which significantly impacts their ability to cover expenses now and save for retirement later. Closing the gender wage gap is essential to ensure women can provide for themselves and their families.

Launching Inclusive Futures in Trades (LIFT) our FREE week-long trades exploration program for high school girls and gender-expansive students will be returning to Essex June 23 – 27. This summer, we will build skills in carpentry, welding and automotive, and learn to use different tools, equipment and materials. In addition to projects and shop time, we will spend a portion of each day discussing personal and professional development topics to prepare for life after high school.  Learn more and apply at https://buff.ly/rquTgLR
