🏆 VSS International & VSS Emultech Bring Home the Hardware! 🏆 Last week at the PPRA | Pavement Preservation & Recycling Alliance Annual Meeting, VSS International and VSS Emultech walked away with not just one, but two prestigious awards—proving once again that quality, innovation, and expertise set us apart in pavement preservation. 🔹 2025 ISSA President’s Award for Excellence – Large Project 🏅 Golden Gate National Recreation Area This project showcased VSS International’s ability to combine multiple preservation techniques for long-lasting results. Our team completed 8.5 miles of crack sealing to prevent reflective cracking through a new slurry seal application. Additionally, we patched over 100 distressed areas, milling and replacing asphalt up to 4 inches deep where needed. The project also included the installation of approximately 220,000 linear feet of pavement markings—all delivered with precision and care. 🔹 2025 ISSA President’s Award for Excellence – Small Project 🏅 The Sea Ranch Association, California Slurry Seal Project A perfect example of pavement preservation meeting environmental harmony, this project involved applying a Type II slurry seal across The Sea Ranch community. Using 625 tons of western aggregate and 87 tons of PMCQS, our team selected a unique grey aggregate to blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Innovating Asphalt Pavements with Caltrans PMPC BMD Test Track VSS Emultech and VSS International, Inc. are proud to collaborate with Caltrans, the UC Pavement Research Center (UCPRC), and industry partners on the groundbreaking Caltrans PMPC Balanced Mix Design (BMD) Test Track. This accelerated study, utilizing the Heavy Vehicle Simulator (HVS), is paving the way for the development of Performance-Related Tests (PRT) and Performance-Related Specifications (PRS) for asphalt mixtures and design in California. 📢 *VSS International Hosts Rocky Mountain West Pavement Preservation Partnership!* 🚧 Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting two busloads of industry professionals from the Rocky Mountain West Pavement Preservation Partnership (RMWPPP) for an immersive field trip at our facility! The event was packed with engaging experiences. Attendees saw a live demonstration of our VSS Macropaver12-EX applying slurry seal over an asphalt rubber chip seal in a true cape seal application. Following the demo, we organized rotating groups to dive deeper, including: - Lab exploration and hands-on mixing at the mix table - A VSS Emultech emulsion plant tour - Equipment training and insights with our expert team from KASI Infrared & VSS Macropaver - A classroom presentation by our skilled VSS staff The day wrapped up beautifully with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and dinner at the historic Sacramento Rail Museum, where everyone enjoyed great company and conversation in a unique setting. It was a fantastic day of learning, networking, and celebrating the pavement preservation community!
