Once again, we’re seeing that there’s still more work to be done in recognizing obesity as a chronic disease. “When responsibly prescribed and included in a broader program that addresses nutrition and lifestyle, these medications play a critical role in weight loss and managing chronic conditions,” said Veeneta Lakhani, Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Vida Health. “This decision limits access to GLP-1s for many patients who would benefit, which furthers existing health disparities and inequality in obesity care.” This isn’t just about medications, it’s about equity, access, and ensuring every person has the opportunity to improve their health with the right support. At Vida, we’ll continue to advocate for comprehensive, equitable obesity care that treats the whole person. https://lnkd.in/gc8aHMkY

Health is shaped by more than just personal choices. Where we live, work, and grow has a profound impact. Social determinants of health (SDOH) play a critical role in obesity rates, with data consistently showing higher prevalence among Black, Hispanic, and low-income populations. It’s time to address the bigger picture. Read this article from Gretchen Zimmermann, MBA, RD, LD, CDCES, CSOWM, VP of Clinical Strategy, to learn how tackling SDOH can transform obesity care and create real, lasting change: https://lnkd.in/g8GNpMYV

First impressions matter, especially in healthcare. That’s why we’re thrilled to unveil our new website! We took this opportunity to re-center around what truly matters: helping people get the care they need in a way that works. Read Joe M.'s post on why this update is important to our commitment to making #healthcare simple and supportive:
In healthcare, first impressions matter. They’re often the start of a vulnerable moment - a first step toward getting help, finding answers, or navigating a complex system. That initial experience can shape trust, influence outcomes, and set the tone for everything that follows. The same is true for organizations like ours, especially in a world where our first interaction with someone is often digital. Our website is more than a front door; it’s a reflection of our mission, our values, and the experience we promise to deliver. Today, we’re excited to launch our new website: a fresh look, clearer messaging, and an experience that better reflects who we are and the people we serve. This redesign wasn’t just about aesthetics. It was an opportunity to pause, reflect, and re-center around what truly matters: helping our members get the care they need in a way that’s simple, supportive, and outcomes-driven. We took this moment to clarify our story - how we bring together clinical, behavioral, and engagement expertise to deliver lasting results in cardiometabolic care. We also focused on making the experience easier to navigate, more welcoming, and more aligned with our values. To our Vida Health team: thank you for bringing this vision to life with such thoughtfulness and heart. And to our partners and members: thank you for inspiring the work we do every day. Take a look around www.vida.com and let us know what you think.
