According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), approximately 25,000 youths are held in residential placement facilities. Through our tablets, ViaPath provides juveniles, completely free of charge, a variety of reintegration resources to help reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for these young adults (ages 18-24). According to the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services (HHS), more than 650,000 individuals across the U.S. are released from state and federal prisons each year. The agency also reports that more than two-thirds of those released are likely to be re-arrested within three years due to a lack of training, reintegration skills, and employment opportunities. With ViaPath Technologies Inspire tablets in correctional facilities across the U.S., incarcerated individuals can access the necessary training and other curricula needed in preparation for reintegration and in finding and maintaining employment. On average, incarcerated individuals who participated in education programs while incarcerated were 43% less likely to recidivate than those who did not. They also had a 13% higher chance of obtaining employment post-release than those who did not.
