The Command is also responsible for launch operations, on-orbit checkout, developmental testing, sustainment and maintenance of military satellite constellations and other Department of Defense space systems.   • In a demonstration of commitment to joint professional military education and the cultivation of its unique service culture, Col Craig Frank, Chief Information Officer for USSF’s Space Systems Command, along with fellow Guardian students and faculty, presented SSC’s “Space Starts Here” portrait to the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va. Maj Gen Thomas Crimmins, commandant, Joint Forces Staff College, accepted the portrait on behalf of the school. The initiative aligns with Chief of Space Operations Gen. B.
