In a demonstration of commitment to joint professional military education and the cultivation of its unique service culture, Col Craig Frank, Chief Information Officer for USSF’s Space Systems Command, along with fellow Guardian students and faculty, presented SSC’s “Space Starts Here” portrait to the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va. Maj Gen Thomas Crimmins, commandant, Joint Forces Staff College, accepted the portrait on behalf of the school. The initiative aligns with Chief of Space Operations Gen. B. Chance Saltzman's focus on "Amplifying the Guardian Spirit." The artwork, created by Rick Herter, symbolizes the USSF's emerging identity.

What is excellence? Dr. John Rood addressed that question and others as a part of our new “Guardians Everywhere” speaker series at LAAFB. With over three decades of experience in national security, defense policy, and leadership across both the U.S. government and private sector, Dr. Rood has shaped global defense strategies and built critical partnerships. From serving as the principal advisor to the Secretary of Defense for defense policy to holding key roles at the Department of State, National Security Council, CIA, the White House and more, his career is a testament to overcoming obstacles to achieve extraordinary goals.
