🌸 Celebrating the Spring Equinox 🌸 As the Earth wakes from its winter slumber, we welcome the balance of light and dark with the Spring Equinox. This is a time for renewal, growth, and honoring the sacred cycles of nature. Just as the Earth is reborn, we are reminded of our strength and resilience. Let us celebrate the return of warmth and the planting of seeds in the earth and our hearts. 🌱 May we walk in harmony with the land, honor our ancestors' teachings, and continue nurturing future generations that will carry our stories forward.

🌿 Historic Land Transfer to Spirit Lake Nation 🌿 The U.S. Department of the Interior has transferred 680 acres of land from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to be held in trust for the Spirit Lake Nation in North Dakota. This important milestone strengthens tribal sovereignty and provides the tribe with opportunities for economic development and community well-being. Spirit Lake Chairperson Lonna Jackson-Street expressed the deep significance, saying the land “symbolizes both our history and our present… This victory stands as a powerful reminder of our resilience and commitment to our future generations.” 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eXY_RPEu

Thank you Secretary Deb Haaland ✊🏽 💛❤️🖤🤍 January 15, 2025 - Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior Deb Haaland delivered remarks during a program at the Department of the Interior to celebrate the historic and enduring progress achieved during her term. Over the past four years, the Department has made unprecedented progress for our shared public lands, waters, wildlife and the communities they sustain. Under Secretary Haaland and Acting Deputy Secretary Laura Daniel-Davis’s leadership, the Department has taken bold action to protect sacred spaces, lands, waters and wildlife, and has forever changed what it means to honor the nation-to-nation relationship with Tribes. The Department and its bureaus have expanded what support for locally led conservation and restoration looks like. Through collaborative work, dedicated public servants have unleashed the science and advanced a clean energy economy that will power millions of homes and businesses across the country. The Department has invested billions of dollars into critical infrastructure projects and in communities that have been historically marginalized. 📸 : https://lnkd.in/eFiaXR4x #NativeAmerican #IndianCountry
