Part of Los Angeles Climate Week please join these events on April 11, including our own Becky Feldman Edwards, in Resilience & Rebuilding discussions. Also please note this just released "CA Wildfire Rebuilding Guide", released by USGBC California and Arup: https://lnkd.in/geRGDi6u
On April 11, SidePorch will bring together a cross-sector lineup of leaders to discuss Resilience & Rebuilding , a half-day LA Climate Week event at Crosscut Ventures. RSVP: https://lu.ma/r6zjzp5g Our first panel of the day, moderated by Allan Marks, asks a simple question: how do we rebuild differently – more resiliently – after January’s wildfires? And to answer that, we’ve invited professionals who sit at the center of that question every day: Abby Ross from The Resiliency Company Becky Feldman Edwards Feldman from USGBC California Nuin-Tara Key from California Forward Plus leaders from reinsurance, real estate development, and SoCal's building industry. This community is evolving our risk models, pushing for permitting reform, piloting new financing structures, and designing housing that can withstand what's next. They're building a bridge between vision and implementation. We'll also hear updates from local resiliency experts, reflections from community members, and spotlight the moments of kindness that emerged in the wake of the fires. Recovery in Los Angeles isn't theoretical. It's happening now. The January fires displaced thousands. This day is about ensuring we don't just rebuild what we had, but build what we need. Public-private partnerships, real estate innovation, and new policy models are all part of that path. I hope you'll join us. Come for the conversations, stay for the connections. Leave with new ideas about what it means to rebuild smarter and safer. (Feel free to pass this along to anyone else thinking deeply about LA’s future.) #losangeles #resilience #rebuilding #generosity Kate Holguín Andy Riemer Tara Kriese Alana (Mitnick) Ficalora Alexander Kapur Iván Markman Brian Garrett Allie Dolido Neha Prasad Carrie Norton Nina Knierim Julia Thayne Nishant Mani Dan Thorman Matt Posner Sara Kazemian, PhD Doug Rubin Aaron Burgess Ted White Robert Gehorsam Lauryn N.
