How can your community or region bounce back from difficult challenges to thrive and prosper in a changing world? Whether it is rain, wind, fire, or an epidemic, these challenges are severe for communities and their residents. Disasters are more frequent, and their associated risks are requiring communities and regions to increase their preparedness and ability to recover quickly. Furthermore, the resources needed to recover are stretched thin which, in turn, limits the capacity to respond effectively and build resilience for the next disaster. #BuildingDisasterResilience The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation will host its 2025 Building Resilience Conference on May 6-7, 2025, in Washington, D.C. Join us for "The Resilience Reset" which is bringing together leaders to shape a more resilient nation that can effectively navigate crises and overcome the urgent challenges posed by disasters. To better prepare and recover from disasters and other global threats, we must streamline our national approach—making it faster, more agile, proactive, and risk-oriented. Stronger partnerships across sectors are essential to building lasting resilience. This year's Resilience Conference agenda will focus on five key areas: 1) Anticipating Future Risks; 2) Improving Efficiency; 3) Strengthening Cross-Sector Collaboration; 4) Managing Costs; and 5) Measuring Impact Join us on May 6 and 7 to be part of the solution in creating a more prepared and resilient future. "Small businesses are the backbone of the nation." 📢 When Hurricanes #Helene and #Milton struck the Southeastern U.S., we teamed up with American Express to support recovery efforts in impacted communities. We’re proud to be named a PRWeek Purpose Awards finalist for this work—helping small businesses like Hendersonville Toy Company, S. A. Mikell & Company, and Mastry's Brewing Co access funding to rebuild and restore operations. Hear their powerful stories and how the grants are making a difference. ⬇️

70% of Americans can’t pass a basic civic literacy test, and only 1 in 4 feel “very confident” explaining how our government works. Meanwhile, the workplace remains a trusted space for learning and connection. This May, we’re piloting Civics Academy—a new workplace learning initiative that builds civic understanding and ties it to key professional skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking. 📩 We’re looking for 20–30 employers with 15+ employees to join this first-of-its-kind program.
