It's #WorldHealthDay. But are we living in a healthy world? ❌ Deep funding cuts are crippling health services for those in crisis. ❌ In conflict zones, hospitals are bombed and health workers are targeted. For millions, health care is a lifeline. It must be funded and protected.

At least 18 people were killed and dozens more injured in a large-scale attack on Kryvyi Rih in #Ukraine's Dnipro Region over the weekend. Among the dead are nine children, most of whom were playing in a park when the attack took place. Humanitarians quickly mobilized, providing urgent health care and psychosocial support to those affected by this tragedy. Civilians and the infrastructure they rely on are protected under international humanitarian law. They are #NotATarget.

The lives of hundreds of thousands of people have been shattered by the earthquake in #Myanmar. Without resources, families are left with no way to restart. No shelter. No clean water. No sense of safety. As the UN Humanitarian Chief, Tom Fletcher, observed, communities on the frontlines need urgent support to recover and rebuild. Let's stand with them today: https://lnkd.in/gaiKicYc

This weekend United Nations Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher was in Mandalay, near the epicenter of #Myanmar’s deadly earthquake, where entire communities have been reduced to rubble. Heat is rising. Bodies remain trapped. Disease is a real threat. It began to rain heavily in the area. Shelter is critical with monsoon rains looming. The UN is on the ground, supporting local partners, but urgent funding is needed for the response. The world must not look away.

2024 was the deadliest year for aid workers on record—360 killed across 20 countries. 95% were local staff—the backbone of every response. They must be protected. And their commitment must be recognized. Too often, their sacrifices go unnoticed. Aid workers are #NotATarget.

Bombs are falling on children. A 5-year-old girl lost her leg—they searched for it in the rubble, in vain. Horrific stories from #Gaza reveal a brutal daily reality. Minutes after colleagues left this site, it was bombed again. This must end.

"As humanitarians, we cannot accept that Palestinian civilians are dehumanized to the point of being unworthy of survival." What’s happening in #Gaza is a war without laws, without humanity and without accountability. Member States must use their political and economic leverage to enforce international law. Our Head of Office a.i. Jonathan Whittall explains "the war without limits" unfolding on the ground.
