Since 1974 we have developed more than 16 million square feet, becoming the largest and most reputable developer in the Buffalo-Rochester corridor. As we reflect on Women's History Month, Uniland thanks the New Era Cap Foundation for hosting their International Women’s Day Celebration earlier this month. During the event, Uniland Construction Director Kelly Maloney and other inspiring women participated in an empowering business leadership panel. See some of the highlights below:
The New Era Cap Foundation honored International Women’s Day this month with a celebration held on Thursday, March 6th. The event, hosted at 500 Pearl, brought together individuals from the community to hear inspiring stories on the career journeys and achievements of women in business leadership position. Hearing from the individuals on the women’s panel – including Lorrie Turner of New Era Cap, Kelly Maloney of Uniland Development, Suma Kulkarni of ACON Investments, Stephanie Peete from Say Yes Buffalo, and Lauren Lopez from Rich’s - was nothing short of empowering. As the celebration continued, Shiza Shahid took the stage as the keynote speaker. Shiza is the co-founder and co-CEO of Our Place, a mission-driven brand reimagining kitchenware for the modern, global kitchen, co-founder of the Malala Fund, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to champion every girl’s right to education, and has been recognized as one of Time’s “30 Under 30 People Changing the World.” The entire audience was engaged as Shiza shared her professional and personal journey, and the obstacles she overcame to be where she is today. On behalf of the New Era Cap Foundation, we’d like to thank the amazing panelists who participated, the inspiring keynote speaker, Shiza, the phenomenal emcees – WIVB News 4 Anchor Kelsey Anderson and WIVB/WNLO-TV (Nexstar Media Group) News 4 Daytime Buffalo Host Chelsea Lovell – the New Era Cap volunteers, and all the individuals who attended the event. The stories shared, the wisdom exchanged, and the powerful conversations that were sparked were truly unforgettable.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Today we are highlighting two of our associates who make this holiday such a special one across Western New York: Virginia Henderson, Uniland’s Real Estate Tax & Insurance Manager & Sr. Drum Sergeant with the Gordon Highlanders - D Company Buffalo City Guard since 1979; and Joshua Estrada, our Systems Administrator & Piper with "D" Company since '21! Here are some photos of them at Buffalo's 2025 St. Patrick's Day Parade, Ms. Henderson being honored for her 45 years of service with the Guard earlier this year, and her marching at a previous year's City of Lackawanna Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
