Yet, conversations around mass deportation continue—threatening to tear families apart, destabilize communities, and hurt the economy. Key facts:

In cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Los Angeles, numerous immigrant-owned businesses, including restaurants, food trucks, and markets, closed their doors to highlight the indispensable role immigrants play in our economy and society. This collective action served as a powerful reminder of the void that would exist without the contributions of immigrant workers and entrepreneurs. The protest was a response to recent immigration policies and enforcement actions that have instilled fear and uncertainty within immigrant communities. By abstaining from work, shopping, and daily activities, participants aimed to showcase the economic and cultural void that would emerge in their absence. While some businesses fully closed, others operated with limited services, reflecting the complex balance between supporting the cause and managing financial realities. This movement underscores the critical importance of immigrants in our daily lives and the broader economy. It's a call to recognize and appreciate the diverse contributions that enrich our communities. Important Update for TPS Holders! U.S. If you have Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and a removal or deportation order, there may be a new opportunity for you to apply for a green card!  What's changing? USCIS now allows TPS holders with past removal orders to request case reopenings and apply for adjustment of status (a green card) if eligible. Next Steps: 1️⃣ Talk to an immigration attorney to see if you're eligible. 2️⃣ Request ICE OPLA to join in a Joint Motion to Reopen. 3️⃣ File the right forms (I-485 & I-290B) to adjust your status. 4️⃣ Stay informed and take action!
