Not all climate solutions are equally effective. How can we determine which are most worthy of investment, and ensure limited funds are spent on strategies that will have an impact? In this issue of the Journal of City Climate Policy and Economy, Alex Hanson along with partners at the Seattle Department of Transportation and Cityfi, examine how the City of Seattle developed its Climate Change Response Framework to enable the evaluation of what transportation policies would help achieve its long-term goals – not only for sustainability, but also for safety, equity, health, and the economy. Identifying a wide-range of benefits across these areas also helped the city to build a large coalition of partnerships and communicate effectively to gain community support. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gYz-VvWn #TYLinConnects #ClimageChange

Bridging worlds, one story at a time. When Dahria Uwamahoro , PE, M.Eng traveled back to Rwanda, she didn’t just revisit her roots, it was a reconnection. To the vibrant communities that shaped her. To the sense of purpose that first sparked her love for engineering. To resilience, heritage, and hope. From the skyline of Chicago to the hills of Kigali, Dahria's journey reminds us that building bridges isn’t always about steel and concrete. Sometimes, it’s about honoring where we come from to inspire where we’re going. Her story is a powerful reminder that engineering isn’t just about solving problems. It’s about understanding people, creating connections, and building a world where everyone can thrive. All communities depend on water for survival. Yet 2.2 billion people still lack safe access, putting their health at risk. World Water Day is held every March 22 to raise awareness of the urgent need to address the global water crisis, and to work towards clean water for all. In Waukesha, Wisconsin, the primary drinking water source was depleting, resulting in increasing concentrations of radium and other contaminants. To replace this with a new water source was a monumental undertaking – and its success was recognized by winning the 2024 ACEC National Recognition Award for engineering excellence. It also received Project of the Year through TYLin’s Elevation Awards. The Elevation Awards recognizes and celebrates the most impactful projects we've delivered and innovative people across our organization. See how our team worked to support a transition to a new safe, sustainable water source designed to last at least 100 years. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gPuxCCPh #TYLinConnects #TYLinWater #WorldWaterDay #ElevationAwards
