  • The InsurTech NY Spring conference kicks off tomorrow in NYC. Douglas Ver Mulm from our team is looking forward to meeting current customers and new prospects. Here are just a few of the sessions we know the insurance community is looking forward to! 🔶 New Product in 90 Days Toolkit: The idea of launching a product quickly isn’t new, but the technology is evolving fast. We’re proud that Turris is part of the tech stack that makes a 90-day launch possible. If your product is live but you don't have a compliance solution or process for your agent partners, come chat with us! 🔶 State of Startup MGA Report: David will break down the key insights from the survey they put together. Here’s a sneak peek: 50% of MGAs out there are building their own PAS! At Turris, we love working with early-stage MGAs to set up compliance from the start. 🔶 Preparing for the Next Natural Disaster: Hear from forward thinking organizations like Kettle, Green Shield Risk Solutions, and Grange Insurance on how they are approaching climate risk! 🔶 Winning in the U.S. Market as a Foreign Insurer: The U.S. is one of the biggest markets around. We’re excited to hear how international companies are approaching their U.S. entry. If you’re a new entrant to the U.S., come check out Turris to help automate licensing and compliance with your distribution partners! 🔶 Leveraging MGAs for R&D: We love MGAs and don't think they are just for the E&S or startup space. Come learn how large carriers are using MGAs to innovate! 🔶 Bringing Tech to the Agent Channel: Agents are becoming increasingly important as insurance complexity grows. The best carriers are investing in technology to create better experiences and efficiencies for their agency partners. 🔶 Using AI to Improve Workflows: We believe the greatest potential for AI is to be applied internally, whether within insurance organizations or at the software vendor level. At Turris, we have several features made possible by AI we've harnessed and and are excited to see how others are using it. 🔶 The Next Gen Carrier Model: Digital carriers of the future are being built today. What makes a carrier “Next Gen”? It’s the ability to be fully digital. We’re excited to help forward-thinking carriers become truly digital to drive compliant growth! If you haven't registered, there are still a few tickets available!

  • Our founding team came out of an MGA startup, so we know that every dollar counts when you're getting your startup MGA, carrier, or wholesaler off the ground. That's why we offer low-tier pricing that grows with you. We help you set up best practices and put compliance on autopilot from day one. So when you scale, you'll have one less headache to worry about. And when things take longer than planned (as they always do), we'll be flexible and can adjust pricing to match your needs. Want to learn how easy (and cost-effective) it is to know with certainty you're on the right side of insurance regulators? Then reach out to us today!

  • We love learning about the origin stories of MGAs! So we're excited to have our cofounder, Douglas Ver Mulm, team up with our good friends Dylan Brand from Typhon Risk and Peter Tilbrook from Loro in creating the Age of the MGA podcast! Starting in April, you'll be able to hear from innovators in the MGA space. Be sure to follow the Age of the MGA LinkedIn page so you can be notified when new episodes are released. For now, check out this fun test session the crew did with another good friend, Rob Jacomen, where he also dropped some great thoughts on connections needed to break into the space.

  • We’ve been busy building new features here at Turris, so we’ve had limited time to catch up on year-end trend analyses and predictions for 2025, but we've seen two themes consistently emerge across insurance industry forecasts: 1️⃣ The softening of the insurance market, and 2️⃣ The drive to improve operational efficiencies as a direct response to market softening What's interesting about the insurance industry's focus on operational efficiency is how heavily AI is positioned as the THE solution. For instance, an opinion piece in InsurTech Analyst (see the link in the first comment) notes that while 76% of U.S. insurance executives reported integrating generative AI into business functions, fewer than 5% are expected to realize direct, tangible gains in the near term. While AI will certainly grow in importance, we believe there's significant untapped potential in "simpler" and more tested solutions. Take our agent onboarding and compliance workflows. Carriers and MGAs that use our platform can onboard an agency and run all their compliance checks in minutes vs the industry average of over 1 Week! This allows agents to start selling faster and with less administrative burden on both the carrier and agency teams! Our prediction for 2025: More operational efficiencies will be gained in the insurance space through the continued implementation of efficient and automated workflows than through AI. Beyond 2025? That's certainly up for debate. But there is some nuance here. It's very, very likely that those efficient and automated workflows will have AI embedded in them. In fact, we have a tool launching soon where AI plays an integral role. More to come later this week...

  • Is your agent onboarding process holding back your growth? At Turris, we started by focusing on insurance back office challenges—simplifying agent management, streamlining commission payments, and much more. But along the way, we realized we’re not just lowering ops costs; we’re helping to improve top-line growth. Did you know that the average time to onboard a new agency is over two weeks? That’s the norm for teams handling this manually in-house, outsourcing to BPO's, or using outdated systems. This leads to frustration and delays for agents eager to sell your insurance product. Customers who use Turris are greatly improving this process. Our platform enables agencies to onboard, sign agreements, and complete all license vetting and appointments in just 15 minutes. If you’re an MGA, carrier, or wholesaler looking to accelerate agent onboarding and offer a better experience for those agents, reach out. Let’s talk about how Turris can help drive your growth (and improve ops efficiency!).

  • We've just released some big new features for our agency onboarding and compliance workflows. Now that we're working with larger MGA groups and wholesalers, we've added more compliance configurations and have given customers more control over when/if they recognize an agency/agent onboarding. 🔶 Compliance configurations for most P&C and L&H products. 🔶 Maintain control of which agencies and agents can sell which products in which states. 🔶 Consolidate agencies and agents across multiple internal product lines. And we've made the whole thing even more intuitive! 📖 Check out the full blog post in the first link. If you're an MGA, wholesaler, or carrier looking for a better way to manage your agency relationships, then please reach out to Douglas Ver Mulm for a demo!

  • Our CEO, Douglas Ver Mulm, will do a live demo of our platform at Insurtech Connect on Wednesday, October 16 at 2:30pm! If you're on the agency partnership, compliance, or finance team at an MGA or carrier, you'll want to check this out! We're helping customers onboard agents faster, ensure compliance across their sales force, and much more! Be sure to connect with Doug after the session or find him on the ITC Networking App.
