From advocating for beavers and recreational immunity to calling for protections against invasive species and emerging contaminants such as PFAS and 6PPD, it's been a busy few months for us in the Oregon legislature. While some of the bills we supported have not advanced, they've set the groundwork for future efforts. We're incredibly thankful for the leadership shown my many of the legislators in our watershed, and our partners including Western Environmental Law Center, Columbia Riverkeeper, Willamette Riverkeeper, Oregon Environmental Council, Oregon Wild, Intertwine Alliance, and Oregon Trails Coalition. Visit our website for a list of the bills we've been supporting and opposing during this session, and stay tuned for important action alerts over the coming weeks related to a handful of these bills. https://lnkd.in/gRK4-RPZ

Thank you to our friends Brew Dr. Kombucha for their ongoing support. We're fortunate that the Explore Tualatin Valley is home to so many incredible companies. Reach out to us for more information on how your company or group can join us for a restoration project or to paddle the river this summer!
Doing good, one vine at a time! 🌿💪 Our PDX crew spent the day battling invasive ivy at Dirksen Nature Park with Tualatin Riverkeepers for our B Corp Month Day of Service. The trophy pile of ivy we conquered? Let’s just say it won’t be making a comeback. 🏆💀 Brew Dr. proudly pays employees for up to 8 hours of volunteering each year—last year, we logged over 460 hours, and we're aiming even higher in 2025! #BrewDr #BCorpMonth #TeamworkForGood #VolunteerDay

We’re thrilled to welcome Bridget Brooks as the newest member of the Tualatin Riverkeepers Board. As a Tualatin City Council member, Bridget brings a passion for environmental advocacy, social action, and community leadership. Bridget's journey with river conservation began in the 80s with the EPA’s Simon Research vessel and deepened through her experience with the Milwaukee Riverkeepers. With nearly three decades of experience in nonprofit governance, including founding the Tualatin Sustainability Network, she believes in empowering communities to tackle environmental challenges together. Bridget will be a tremendous asset to TRK’s mission of protecting and restoring the Tualatin River.

Thank you to the Tualatin Riverkeepers members, volunteers, donors, and partners who helped us accomplish so much in 2024. If you're a TRK member, please plan to join us for our Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 8 where we'll recap our work from 2024, look ahead to 2025, and share our recently-adopted 2025-2029 Strategic Plan!

As a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, our mission is to protect and restore the Tualatin River watershed. We're also proud to be protecting one of only two rivers in Oregon designated as a National Park Service Water Trail. Thanks to support from Explore Tualatin Valley and Travel Oregon, in 2025 we will be installing updated signs at launches along the river and launching a new Tualatin River Water Trail website. Last week, we traveled to beautiful Sunriver Resort for the Oregon Outdoor Recreation Summit to share our upcoming work with outdoor recreation orgs and enthusiasts from around the state. We can't wait for next year's paddle season!

It's Giving Tuesday (in case you haven't noticed!) and Tualatin Riverkeepers is honored to once again be included in the Willamette Week's Give!Guide. While the Tualatin River is being enjoyed now more than ever, our watershed faces significant challenges from development pressures and a changing climate. We have been working tirelessly to protect the watershed, from engaging volunteers in hands-on restoration work to providing testimony and submitting formal comments to elected officials. But this critical work depends on the support of people like you. Your gift today will help Tualatin Riverkeepers: 🌱 Restore habitats by planting thousands of native trees, shrubs, and grasses to improve water quality and support wildlife. 🚣 Expand access to outdoor recreation, so more people can paddle, explore, and connect with nature. 🛡️ Strengthen our advocacy efforts to ensure responsible policies that balance economic growth with environmental preservation. Longer stretches of warm days, along with healthier rivers, have led to a significant increase in recreationists on the Tualatin and Willamette Rivers. Thanks to support from the Oregon State Marine Board and Oregon Parks And Recreation Department, TRK and Willamette Riverkeeper are working to make our rivers safer as we continue to protect them. Thanks to our friends at OPB for covering this important issue. https://lnkd.in/gn_fTXg3

A huge thanks to the more than 40 employees of Brew Dr. Kombucha who joined us today at Dirksen Nature Park in City of Tigard. This company models what it takes to create a thriving, equitable, and sustainable community and watershed. Cheers to you, friends!
What an incredible day! The Brew Dr Kombucha team teamed up with Tualatin Riverkeepers for our annual volunteer day at Dirksen Nature Park. We rolled up our sleeves, tackled invasive plants, and mulched trails—because who doesn’t love getting their hands dirty for a good cause? A big thank you to everyone who came out to lend a hand! Your hard work truly makes a difference. And, of course, we celebrated our efforts with some well-deserved pizza and refreshing kombucha. 🍕 🧋 This volunteer work is a reflection of our commitment to being a B Lab certified B corp company, prioritizing people and the planet in everything we do. Let’s keep the momentum going—every little bit helps our community thrive!
