TriAnkle is an innovative medical application that aims to improve the junctions and cartilages (and therefore, the overall movement) of the ankle by introducing a tailored, 3D bio-printed collagen-and-gelatin based structure in the affected area. Jorge Ordoyo Pascual, Sandra Ruiz Alonso, Idoia Gallego Garrido, Laura Saenz Del Burgo and José Luis Pedraz are the authors of the article published in Drug Delivery and Translational Research under the title ‘Effects of beta and gamma radiation sterilization on growth factor-loaded nanoparticles: an innovative approach for osteoarticular disorders treatment’. The article is about a study suggesting that nanoparticles loaded with VEGF165 and PDGF-BB can be successfully sterilised, retaining both their properties and biological activity. These nanoparticles may offer a promising new approach for the treatment of osteoarticular diseases by enhancing vascularisation and promoting cell proliferation in the affected tissue.
