The USDA has canceled $3.3 million in food intended for delivery to Massachusetts food banks through The Emergency Food Assistance Program. Nearly $2.3 million, which equals around 105,000 cases of food, was designated for the Greater Boston Food Bank. In Massachusetts, one in five households struggles to put food on the table. Food banks, SNAP, and Farm to School grants face threats from the Trump administration. We're disappointed that our current administration continues to attack food assistance programs that support our most vulnerable populations. We'll continue to fight against these harmful policies and advocate for everyone in Massachusetts’ right to access and afford food with dignity. https://lnkd.in/e9_g8vXg

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children who live in households that are impacted by food insecurity are more likely to face worse health outcomes, including being sick more often, taking longer to recover from illness, and requiring hospitalization more frequently.
