With an extensive background in low-income housing, Maia is deeply committed to advancing the cause of women in affordable housing and related professions. “She is passionate about hiring, mentoring, promoting, and otherwise advancing the cause of women in the workplace,” said Woda Cooper Companies’ President, David Cooper, Jr. OpenDoor Women's Recovery Alliance is grateful to have Maia’s expertise as we enhance our programs and broaden our impact.
Maia serves as Vice President of Development for Woda Cooper Companies, Inc., where she oversees real estate acquisitions company wide, chairs the Investment Committee, and is a key member of the Credit Committee and development team across multiple states. She holds a B.A. in History and a B.A. in French from Chapman University, magna cum laude, and earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
In recognition of her leadership, the Women's Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) named Maia the 2024 Female Champion, honoring her as a top female leader in the affordable housing industry.
WAHN leaders praised her for her human decency, kindness, dedication to helping others, and initiative in writing “Everybody Deserves a Home,” a children's book that explains the importance of affordable housing.
