In #manufacturing, dispensing glues, sealants, adhesives, and soldering components can be some of the most difficult tasks with a lot of variability. Thankfully, #Automation can make that job easy! As I am sitting at my desk writing this post, I am looking at all the products right next to me that have sealants or adhesives. Here is the list: Samsung phone, Garmin watch, webcam, headphones, podcast microphone, robot dog, adjustable desk, vacuum, and much more. It's 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤! We are kicking off a new #VideoSeries showcasing many significant #robot manufacturers worldwide, leading up to some awesome events and tradeshows! To start, we are highlighting ABB Robotics, headquartered in Zürich, Switzerland, which was founded in 1883 by Ludvig Fredholm. In 1988, two companies 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀 (Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget) and 𝐁𝐁𝐂 (Brown, Boveri & Cie) merged to become ABB. Today, #ABB has over 100,000 global employees and has produced over 600,000 #IndustrialRobots and #Cobots, with a fun fact developing the world's first fully electric industrial robot controlled by a microprocessor in 1974. FIRST robotics competitions have been happening for the last four weeks worldwide, with almost 3,500 teams from 28 countries competing with their own designed and built #robots! One of the questions I get asked about #FIRST is, "Are the students successful after they graduate HS?" Here is an excellent example of a video recorded 8 years ago from 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝟏𝟓𝟎𝟏 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐓 out of Huntington, IN, coached by Chris Elston! This was a sponsorship video for PHD, Inc., which contributed parts for these students to build a robot.
