About us

Set on the campus of The Chattanooga Choo Choo, an iconic train station, hotel, and entertainment complex, The Hotel Chalet at The Choo Choo reflects two years of meticulous planning and renovations. Drawing from the US Railways history of constructing lodges and chalets to encourage travel and adventure, the property embraces the spirit of rail travel, inviting its guests to journey to the surrounding mountains, explore arts and entertainment, and partake in après voyage libations. The Hotel Chalet offers 127 guest rooms, including 25 rooms in restored Victorian train carriages. Guests of the hotel can enjoy a variety of on-property experiences and amenities, including the restaurant Elsie's Daughter, complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, an alpine pool, and a series of beautiful indoor/outdoor lounge spaces.

    🚂 Inside Starboard 12 • On Land • Tucked away in Tennessee’s city of Chattanooga, The Hotel Chalet at The Choo Choo offers a hospitality experience rooted in the long history of rail travel. Located on a mixed-use campus set within a former railroad station, the hotel features a range of unique suites housed in stationary train carriages. The latest addition to the site is the MacArthur Suite, set within a 1960s-era Pullman carriage whose interiors have been transformed by JENNY BUKOVEC STUDIO. Named after Southern Railway’s last steam-powered freight train, the space is filled with design details that nod to the site’s history – from a houndstooth pattern found in 19th-century passenger cars, to furniture inspired by pieces from the original carriage.     Had the wonderful opportunity to plan a getaway for our expanding family ~ a trip to #Chattanooga at the beautifully remodeled #HotelChalet at #TheChattanoogaChooChoo ~ a historic train station. We stayed in the elegant original Pullman Boxcar “Macarthur Suite” complete with dining, living room, bedroom, full gorgeous bath & powder room plus a large private deck ~ our grown children & their sweet family stayed a few steps away in the lovely Hotel Chalet. Fine dining at #ElsiesDaughter on property, along with the casual #Caboose for burgers and salads … the Aquarium, boutique shopping, #noogalights and North Pole Train to visit with #Santa was the highlight! I highly recommend for all ages, it was #magical!
