  • Corporate leadership in climate finance is more critical now than ever. Ecosystem restoration and community resilience cannot rely on public funding—private sector engagement is crucial. Financing native forest restoration through the voluntary carbon market is one of the most effective ways for companies to take meaningful action today. The Regenerative Development of Anlo Wetlands (ReDAW) project is a prime example, revitalizing mangroves in Ghana while creating sustainable livelihoods and delivering lasting ecological benefits. 🌱 Learn how your company can be part of the solution: https://refore.st/4axE9ZS #bluecarbon #naturebasedsolutions #vcm #carbonremoval

  • This #EarthDay, we’re celebrating our internal forestry team (IFO) in Hawaiʻi! 🌎 Terraformation was founded on Hawaiʻi Island and our IFO team is at the heart of our restoration efforts. This crew cares for the land, restoring native ecosystems and collaborating with the community to share knowledge. Here’s a glimpse of what we've been up to lately: 🌳 Kaupalaoa (Pacific Flight): • Planted our first ʻiliahi (Hawaiian sandalwood), a culturally and ecologically vital keystone species • Removed invasive species like buffelgrass, allowing ʻaʻaliʻi to thrive and native grasses to rebuild soil stability • Improved survival rates for wiliwili with new propagation methods • Accelerated seed production in our Second Generation Garden with innovative irrigation (most species now produce seed within a year!) 🌱 Lānaʻi Seed Bank: • We’ve collected over 1 million native seeds across 24 species! • In partnership with Pūlama Lānaʻi, these seeds will safeguard biodiversity and support future reforestation — each one a step toward restoring Hawaiʻi’s native landscapes and cultural heritage Thank you to our IFO team for your dedication to the land, the plants, the people - and for upholding our shared kuleana (responsibility) to restore and protect Hawaiʻi’s unique ecosystems. Happy Earth Day from all of us at Terraformation! 💚 #Reforestation #Biodiversity #NativeSpecies

  • Celebrating the strength of community in restoration! 🌿 A few weeks ago in Antioquia, Colombia, landowners, local leaders, businesses, and conservationists came together to celebrate Sembrando Futuro 2.0—a carbon removal and forest restoration project by Fundación Grupo Argos and Terraformation. This project restores degraded land in one of Colombia’s richest biodiversity hotspots, rebuilds native ecosystems, and reconnects fragmented Andean forest—all while supporting local livelihoods. At the event, we heard community stories of returning wildlife, sustainable business practices, commitments from local officials, and a shared vision for climate resilience. A powerful moment captured our collective hope for the future: Together, we signed a symbolic pledge next to a thriving 5-meter tree—planted in just 2023—as a living promise to protect our ecosystems for generations to come. 🌳 SF2.0 is more than restoration. It’s a collaboration grounded in community action. Learn more: https://refore.st/4kQXNVp The pledge reads: “We commit to sowing the future of our ecosystems together.”

A message for all of our allies working in global forest restoration: (And those who follow the topic with interest) I’m going to tell you something very special about our particular climate solution. It turns out that our climate solution is very unique. And this unique feature matters in a time of trade wars, trade conflicts. A time when many countries might be enacting tariffs, making trading goods between each other more expensive. And it is this: Most climate solutions - things like solar power, electric cars, windmills, direct air capture - climate solutions that require you to build things with technology, solutions that require complicated machines - all of those get harder when there’s no free trade. They get harder because it becomes more expensive to ship solar panels, electric cars, all the components that you need to make in a factory in one place and ship elsewhere to be used. Those climate efforts - they get set back. They become more expensive, harder to justify investing in. But ours does not! Because every country everywhere can - if they truly want - Plant their own trees Using their own native species Collected from their own seeds And restore their own forests Reforestation is something that is local. The things we (as Terraformation) provide are knowledge and skills. Even the light infrastructure - that’s mostly made from local materials. Everyone can restore their own forests, in each country! What we provide is training and hope and knowledge and motivation. Setting an example doing it in one country is what inspires hope to do it in another country. That thing is not held back by a trade war, or tariffs! This low-tech solution, this highly-accessible, universally inclusive solution - this is one big reason why I personally picked global reforestation to back. We are the solution that is resistant and survivable in the face of trade conflict. Because everyone can do it themselves, in their own country. And yet, the forests restored in one country can help the people in another country on the other side of the world. The world remains connected! Whether we pretend to separate ourselves by our political systems or not - Reforestation is the climate solution that acknowledges and uses this fundamental global connection! So: even while the US government may be doing … who knows what… to mess things up. Our mission remains clear. Our solution remains effective. And that is why our work is important. Do not give up.
