Founded in 1887, Teichert’s two main operating companies are Teichert Construction and Teichert Materials. Teichert Construction holds California State Contractor’s License #8, the oldest active license in California. Teichert Construction is a general contractor that builds the infrastructure people use each day, including hundreds of thousands of mile of roads and freeways, commercial and industrial sitework, parks, airports, and more. One advantage that Teichert Construction brings our customers is a full line of construction services. These include mass grading, asphalt paving, concrete paving, curbs and sidewalks and underground pipelines. We stay on the cutting edge, from training our employees to outfitting our construction equipment with the latest technology for greater job efficiency. Teichert Materials is one of the largest construction materials producers in the county. This includes; Teichert Aggregates, a rock, sand, gravel and asphaltic concrete producer. Teichert Materials makes the materials to build homes, schools, offices, roads, levees and other community projects. Since our business is dependent on the use of natural resources, we work closely with neighbors, environmental experts and public officials to design, reclaim and replenish the environment in which we work. Mother Nature had her say last week, sending a massive debris slide onto State Route 140 between Briceburg and Yosemite Cedar Lodge in Mariposa County. Since March 17, this essential route to Yosemite National Park has remained under a full closure, but progress is being made. Caltrans Geo-Tech experts completed their assessment late last week, allowing a specialty contractor to perform rock scaling operations to clear any loose debris. Then, Teichert Construction launched 24/7 debris removal operations, working around the clock to clear the road. Emergency response underway on Hwy 140! When a rock avalanche shut down Highway 140 - a critical access route to Yosemite National Park - Teichert Construction partnered with Caltrans to launch an immediate emergency response. Working closely together, we’re clearing debris, stabilizing the slope, and performing necessary roadway repairs to safely reopen this essential corridor. On Friday, a specialized subcontractor scaled the slide area to bring down any loose material, allowing for 24/7 operations to begin – safely. As we wrap up Women in Construction (WIC) week it’s a great reminder to acknowledge the work being done to attract more women into the construction industry and consider how we can continue to build upon those efforts in future years. At Teichert, our Women in Operations (WIO) group celebrates each WIC Week by coming together to learn about each other’s corner of the business and discuss opportunities for members and allies for the year to come and participating in a variety of events around the region. This year we had the opportunity to talk with some amazing college students from California State University, Chico and Arizona State University about the opportunities for women in the industry, share our thoughts on mentorship at a panel hosted by the National Association of Women in Construction, and supported Habitat for Humanity’s #WomenBuild2025. Exciting news! Our Hallwood Side Channel and Floodplain Restoration Project has won an AGC Constructor Award! This is a huge honor, as AGC awards are incredibly competitive, and we go head-to-head with the best in the industry year after year. Also worth celebrating, our Veterans Boulevard Interchange project was a finalist in two categories! While we didn’t take home the award, being named a finalist is an achievement in itself and reflects the outstanding work our team delivered. A huge congratulations to everyone involved!
