Inspiring! We got a chance to listen to the wisdom of Ariel Investments Co-CEO and President Mellody Hobson in her keynote fireside chat at Teach For America's 9th Annual Forecast event in New York City last week. GBC Founder + CEO Linnea Roberts (pictured with TFA-New York Co-Chair Joe Amato, Mellody Hobson and TFA ED Tia Morris) is a longtime TFA supporter and board member of both the NYC chapter and national organization. Linnea brought together a table of more wise women who joined us for the fundraiser, which raised $270,000 to support TFA's programs, teachers and students. BTW, we're stoked about Ariel Investments' latest venture, Ariel Project Level, which is investing in women's sports in a BIG way! #educationequity #volunteering #womeninvc #womeninfinance #womenleaders #womeninsports #womeninvestinginwomen #supportteachers #supporteducation #investineducation

⚡ Alum in Action! ⚡ Major kudos to Rebecca Cohen (Baltimore '00), Executive Director and Cofounder of the Brooklyn Book Bodega, and team for the organization's recent spotlight on The Kelly Clarkson Show! Thank you for providing New York's families with greater access to and ownership of books (and creating a passion for learning & literacy!). 📚 ❤️
Brooklyn Book Bodega cofounders Seema Aghera and Rebecca Cohen were thrilled to chat with Kelly on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Wednesday, March 26th! They discussed their work to increase literacy and book access as part of the show’s "Rad Human Hour" series which features individuals making a positive impact in their communities. Learn more about #BrooklynBookBodega and our mission to increase the number of 100+ book homes for kids 0-18 in NYC on our website.
