When Yesica was diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic, her world turned upside down. Unable to work and struggling to provide for her family, she turned to Sycamores' Family Resource Center—where she found not just financial assistance, but hope. “It was a hard time because I stopped working, and I really want and need help—about the money, about the kids, about mental health,” Yesica shared. With support from Sycamores, her family stayed housed, accessed food and mental health services, and found a community that cared. Isaac Pleitez, a CRA Outreach Specialist at Royal Business Bank, shared valuable insights on budgeting for college, the importance of saving, and smart financial strategies. The 15 seniors who attended walked away with practical tools to manage their finances—and a greater sense of confidence for the future.
