The Big Giveback is officially back—and what a kickoff it was! Huge thanks to the incredible teams from Rocket Mortgage and PNC Bank for getting things rolling (literally and figuratively!) last week. From painting and refreshing the TIPS program space for young moms and kids, to building a brand-new swing set, their impact was felt inside and out. We can't wait to see the smiling faces and hear the laughter as the TIPS children play on their new playground! During National Volunteer Month, we’re especially grateful for volunteers like these who show up, roll up their sleeves, and make a difference. Thank you for helping create spaces where families can thrive! #NationalVolunteerMonth #TheBigGiveback #108Stories #108YearsofService #ThePowerOfCommunity

TIPS program (Teen Infant Parenting Services), one of Detroit’s only transitional housing programs for homeless teen mothers and infants, got some love last week from volunteers. They came out to support our young moms who call TIPS home. Here's the story from Fox 2 News. #108Stories #108YearsofService #ThePowerOfCommunity

Research shows that foster youth who participate in sports see better grades and higher graduation rates. That’s why we’re so grateful for Coach Tre and the time she’s spending leading a basketball clinic for the young men in our Residential Treatment program. She doesn’t just teach the game—she builds confidence, offers encouragement, and reminds our youth of their potential. Thank you, Coach Tre, for making an impact on our boys! #NationalVolunteerMonth #MakeAnImpact #ThePowerOfCommunity

As we continue celebrating Women’s History Month, we want to shine a spotlight on a special program, Teen Infant Parenting Services (TIPS), which has supported hundreds of young fearless moms and their children facing homelessness. Our TIPS moms show incredible strength and resilience as they navigate the challenges of motherhood and homelessness. Through this program, they receive the support, resources, and community they need to break the cycle of homelessness and create better futures for themselves and their children. To learn more or find out how you can support this program, contact Raquel Sulaiman at rsulaiman@mchsmi.org. #108Stories #108YearsofService #PowerOfCommunity #StrongerTogether #WomensHistoryMonth

Our community partners are exactly that—partners—and they're the driving force behind the life-changing work at MCHS. We want to give a special thank you to the amazing crew from Ally Financial for coming out on a cold spring day to paint the bedrooms in one of our youth cottages. Your time and kindness help turn a building into a home for our young men, and we couldn't be more grateful! #108Stories #108YearsofService #PowerOfCommunity #StrongerTogether

For over a century, women have shaped MCHS Family of Services. In 1917, Anna Kresge and Sophie Sprague opened their doors to children in need. Just a few years later, Frances Knight became our first female Executive Director, further strengthening our mission and impact for over 20 years. What began as a home for 10 children has grown into 14+ programs serving thousands each year—all thanks to the vision and kindness of these courageous women. This Women’s History Month, we honor all bold, compassionate women who have built our foundation and every woman at MCHS who carries their legacy forward today. #WomensHistoryMonth #108Stories #108YearsofService #PowerOfCommunity #StrongerTogether
