We are thrilled to announce that Sunchem won "Best Overall Venture" at National Renewable Energy Laboratory's 30th Industrial Growth Forum! 52 startups selected by 150+ investor selection committee competed for top honors. Pitch presenters representing cutting edge technologies competed in four stage tracks: early, pre-commercial, commercial, and growth stage, with a winner in each track, as well as an overall winner. This a pivotal point for Sunchem as we continue to scale our precision critical metal separation technologies impacting the critical metal space across the value chain, which includes manufacturing, metal recycling and mining. We are honored, excited and filled with joy. A special thanks to the organizers of NREL's IGF, the judges and everyone else that made this meeting happen. Precision Separation of Critical Metals
About us
We provide Nano Leach & Nano Filters for the Precision Separation of Critical Metals from waste and wastewater. Sunchem is a nanotechnology organization based out of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Our mission is to develop leaching formulations & Nano Filters for precision separation of critical metals from complex water mixtures to replace inadequate separation technologies in high-value markets such as water purification, energy, and critical metal extraction. Water contamination resulting from extractive operations and manufacturing systems is a worldwide problem, but Sunchem’s Nano Filter technology can provide industries with a cost-effective and energy-efficient approach to improving water quality while also capturing value from their waste streams. This technology has the potential to revolutionize how critical metals are sourced and purified while it protects downstream communities from toxic water pollution.

Sunchem is honored to be a part of the Founders Factory and Rio Tinto's Mining Tech Accelerator to help decarbonize and make mining more efficient. Check out the Forbes article on this great group of companies: https://lnkd.in/gmxe7iTa Shoutout to the Co-Founders of Sunchem, Dana Hernandez and Daniel T. Sun, as well as our Activate colleagues who are also in this cohort! Katherine French at BLUUMBIO and Garrett Boudinot with Vycarb.
💡 “It’s a massive challenge, but that’s what excites ambitious entrepreneurs. Many see this as a problem that can be solved over the next decade, and the potential for impact is enormous.” Our CEO henry lane fox spoke to Forbes about the first startup cohort for our Rio Tinto Mining Tech Accelerator. He highlights the scale of the opportunity to decarbonise and make mining more efficient, and how each of the 6 startups are contributing towards this bigger mission. ICYMI, our first cohort includes: ⭐️ Endolith ⭐️ Prospectral ⭐️ Magmatic Bio ⭐️ Vycarb ⭐️ Sunchem ⭐️ BLUUMBIO Read the full interview (w/ Marianne Lehnis) here: https://lnkd.in/eya9aGMt Charlotta Kemp | Tamryn Barker | Damian Routley | George Northcott | Olivia Brooks | Jack Kennedy | Lee Bernasconi | Simon Lovick | Laura Moross | Pekka Santasalo | Dan Walker | Rohan Silva | Liz Dennett, PhD | Garrett Boudinot | Katherine French | Oliver Siegel | Gwenhivir Wyatt-Moon | Daniel T.
