While searching for a job in college, Elvia Solis stumbled upon a newspaper ad for a team member position with a State Farm independent contractor agent. She didn't foresee this leading to an opportunity of a lifetime. "After graduating, I began applying for jobs related to my bachelor's degree, but realized the State Farm agent opportunity was more appealing than a traditional 9-to-5 job with a limited salary. After spending eight years as a team member, I opened my agent office in 2006 and then my second location in 2017." Elvia offers her perspective on how she achieved her fullest potential. While looking for a college internship, Rudy Strnad came across State Farm. He interned for a year and then spent the next four years as a team member for a local State Farm independent contractor agent, never envisioning a career as an agent himself. "I was introduced to another agent through a mutual friend, and her infectious attitude inspired me. Her influence, combined with the agent I was working for at the time, motivated me to look into the agent opportunity." At the age of 25, Rudy opened his agent office and seven years later, opened his second location. "I started out as a broke college graduate. The State Farm agent career is unique because it gives you the ability to propel you into a strong financial position, without an overwhelming upfront financial investment. "This career is challenging, yet exciting. It's never redundant and gives you a sense of purpose, allowing you to make your business into what inspires your team and serves your community best.
