When most people think about Dr. King, his "I Have a Dream" speech and his impact on the civil rights movement come to mind first! But did you know that he inspired many environmentalists and activists to take action to advocate for the protection of our environment? Please take a moment to remember him for his inspiration that helped bring us the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act this January 20th!

Thank you everyone for helping us celebrate the Pure Water Soquel Ribbon cutting event. This wasn't just a Soquel Creek Water District celebration- it was a moment we share with EVERYONE that has helped turn this project into a reality. 💧
Pure Water Soquel Ribbon Cutting Event, October 3, 2024. It was truly an #inthistogether moment for the project with so many amazing moments. These are a handful of the candid shots that were taken. I'm 12 days into the job as General Manager with Soquel Creek Water District- and what a way to kick off the new duties with an event that has culminated over 10 years of dedication, hard work, and collaboration - by the 100+ that were in attendance plus the 1000s of others that have helped make this project continue on our journey towards water sustainability for Santa Cruz Mid-County region.
