We're excited to share that we recently partnered with BSA Troop 222 as part of the Bright Lights, Brighter Futures program with Sonepar USA! Our staff chose the local Covington, GA chapter as a non-profit that would benefit from a free lighting retrofit, with products generously donated by Acuity Brands. The troop's outpost was updated with new lighting and hardware, which also included installation and recycling of old products, as well as an energy audit that will save them money and reduce their energy consumption. Local contractor Chambers Electric is upgrading Casa de Amparo with energy-efficient LED lighting, guided by Gerry Gonzalez, the Director of Facilities. Jack Chambers and his team of electricians are replacing 120+ fluorescents with new Acuity Brands LED fixtures. We are excited to partner with GiGi's Playhouse Sugar Land through Sonepar USA's Bright Lights, Brighter Futures!💡This annual program provides local organizations with lighting upgrades completely free of charge. Through close collaboration with manufacturer partners and local installers, we are proud to help lower operational costs and increase connections with community nonprofits. GiGi's Playhouse provides free programming and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Stay tuned for updates on the finished project!

Last week Sonepar’s President and CEO Philippe Delpech joined us for a tour of Capital’s new 360K+ sq-ft CDC and had an opportunity to see our supply chain investments at work with our state-of-the-art automation and a 2MW solar panel installation. In addition, we had a great visit with Debra Phillips of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Debra shared the great work #NEMA is doing to promote energy resilience, strengthen supply chains, and develop our workforce. NEMA’s recent grid reliability study anticipates that electricity demand will increase 50% by 2050. Our industry will be critical in modernizing the grid to meet the increase in demand and Sonepar will be well positioned to support our customer and market needs. As a member of NEMA, Sonepar is proud to support an organization that is committed to the future of the #electroindustry.

Last week, I had the honor of presenting at the Sonepar Junior Committee (SJC) mid-term presentations in Paris! 🚀 The SJC is an incredible program that brings together associates from around the world to develop ideas, collaborate across countries and business functions, and contribute to Sonepar’s strategic ambitions. It's a unique learning experience that accelerates professional growth and builds a strong international network. One of the most memorable moments of my journey so far was meeting colleagues from different parts of the world and sharing our diverse perspectives. This experience not only enriched our project but also strengthened our bond as a team. Being part of this program is truly an honor, and I’m excited for what’s next! As we transition from the research phase to the implementation phase, I look forward to continuing this journey with my fellow SJC members, further developing our project, and piloting our proposals. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and thankful for my amazing teammates who have made this journey so enriching and enjoyable. Congratulations to Bob Preston on earning a Lifetime Achievement Award from EdisonReport! 👏👏👏 The award recognizes individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the #lighting industry throughout their careers. 💡 Bob is a Lighting Solutions Specialist who has been with Capital Electric for 37 years. He calls becoming a lighting specialist the "best move I ever made." As co-leader of Sonepar's Lighting Academy, Bob shares his passion, enthusiasm, and extensive knowledge with associates who choose to pursue a career track in lighting. He's also hosted popular lighting seminars for associates and customers for many years. "One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is the opportunity to share lighting knowledge through training and education," he shared. Bob is also heavily involved with the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). Sonepar became the first electrical distributor with a Champion-level partnership with IES in 2024.
