📣 Have you heard the news? VIA has joined Task 53 - Interoperability of Bidirectional Charging (INBID), a collaborative between the Vehicle-Grid Integration Council (VGIC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) Task 53. VIA’s goal in joining the initiative is to ensure Vehicle-to-Grid (#V2G) data is protected against theft, misuse, and manipulation. We are excited to join Ford Motor Company, Tesla, Mercedes-Benz AG, and 28 other partners to set the standards for how vehicles provide greater reliability and sustainability. 🌱 Follow along for our progress in this partnership! 🤝 #solvewithvia #dataprotection #EVs

What do #DC and #Davos share (besides a fabulous 📸 with Colin Gounden)? A belief in data privacy through #decentralization. This week (Jan. 27th to Jan. 31st) is Data Privacy Week. Over the past year it’s become widely recognized that decentralizing data offers more protection from data theft, misuse, and manipulation than solely relying on centralized cloud providers. This is a big change from the year before. 🛡️ Experts at the U.S. Departments of #Defense, Homeland Security, #Treasury, the #SEC, as well as in  #Switzerland, #NATO, and the #EU are in favor of decentralized identities and individual ownership of data. Consumers, however, lament that the security and usability of #wallets are major barriers to adoption. At VIA, we’re making a difference. His talk, “Defense First: Digital Security, Resiliency, and Usability,” will cover the critical needs of the #defense sector and how #Web3 companies, like VIA, support them. Immediately following the keynote, Colin will be moderating the panel, “Rapid Innovation in Defense - the Armed Forces View” featuring US #Navy CTO, Justin Fanelli, Arun Gupta of NobleReach™️, and Lars Minth of Swiss Armed Forces. 🛡️ To wrap up the action-packed day, happening all alongside the World Economic Forum, VIA is hosting an exclusive invite-only dinner with leadership from around the globe in defense, Web3, and #AI 🌍. VIA’s COO, Kate Ravanis, was invited to speak on the main stage at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Energy Symposium event, as a newly selected cohort member. Later in the year, Colin joined her in London for another fantastic AWS event. Shout-out to Payal Patel and Shaima Sharif for all your support (and the great group 📸!) 🛡️ D.C. + Texas were our two favorite spots for events this year!
