Bila Solar's North American Headquarters is now operational in the heart of Indianapolis! Our warmest congratulations to the Bila Solar team as they begin to introduce its patented glass-free, frameless, lightweight solar panel to the U.S. market. Shook was the Construction Manager on this notable design-build project, in partnership with Mussett Nicholas Associates. This 160,000-square-foot renovation transformed a 60+ year old building into a facility that will create up to 250 jobs for the local community and produce 5,000 high-efficiency solar panels per day when all phases are complete. Excavation is nearly finished at the Siler City Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements project! This $62M upgrade is a collaboration from numerous municipalities – Town of Siler City, City of Sanford, NC, and TriRiver Water – to expand the current plant to support the community’s growth. With the demolition and major excavation operations complete, our team is ready to start the concrete work for the structures that will make up the new treatment systems including the Anaerobic-, Bio-Denipho-, and Post-Anoxic and Reaeration Basins. The support of excavation for the new headworks and influent pump station is well underway and we will be breaking ground on the new clarifier in the coming weeks. Our Mid-Atlantic team recently sponsored Connect for Success and Wake County Public School System's S.H.E.D. event, where they served as mentors to high school students to promote construction-related careers. We partnered with Advance Concrete to support Bunn High School as they built a shed using the provided specs and plans. It was great to spend time with these future professionals while sharing what we love. Kudos to this group of students for winning 1st place! Thank you to Connect for Success NC for all of the fantastic things you do for our industry! #ShookMission #WorkforceDevelopment #CareersinConstruction
