Autism Acceptance Month is a time to spread awareness and promote acceptance of autistic individuals and their families. We applaud organizations who are creating a culture that supports the well-being of neurodivergent workers as well as employees who are caregivers for those with neurodiverse challenges. About 1 in 36 children have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in the U.S., according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which estimates that 5.4 million U.S. adults — or 2.2% of the adult population — have autism.
