🌍 The 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗥𝗘) 𝗔𝗰𝘁 is a critical step in countering the Chinese Communist Party’s dominance over global mineral supply chains and building a more secure, independent future for U.S. industry and innovation. We are grateful for the bipartisan leadership of 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴, 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘆𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 for advancing this legislation. 🔹 By empowering the U.S. Geological Survey to map mineral resources globally, this bill paves the way for American companies to forge new partnerships and operate in regions where China has long been the only game in town. As SAFE’s Abigail Hunter put it: "It ensures we show up in resource-rich nations, rather than leaving them to deepen their ties with China." 🔗 Learn more about the work of 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗘’𝘀 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆: https://lnkd.in/gaieqfVW #CriticalMinerals #NationalSecurity #USGS #SupplyChains #MineralSecurity #China #Geopolitics #USLeadership

𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 At SAFE's recent Summit, Circulor’s Douglas Johnson-Poensgen, Aimee Boulanger, Executive Director of IRMA Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance and our customer Jeff Werner, VP Corporate & Government Affairs of Panasonic North America, discussed the fundamentals of how traceability is building a ‘better’, more trusted battery supply chain and the challenges that remain in scaling best practices. Circulor and Panasonic, the largest battery maker in the world, shared how traceability accomplishes and proves responsible sourcing, sustainable production, and growing volumes of recycled content, essential to improving resource security in the realm of critical minerals. This is not only increasingly important for Panasonic but also for their customers to satisfy ever-evolving regulatory requirements, including tariffs. 🏗️ American manufacturers are among the cleanest and most innovative in the world—but they’re being undercut by foreign competitors that cut corners and pollute freely. 📢 SAFE supports Senators Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham as they introduce the 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘍𝘦𝘦 𝘈𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 2025—a policy designed to hold non-market economies like China accountable and reward U.S. companies that lead in clean production. ▪️ This legislation is about fairness. It's about turning America's environmental and industrial leadership into a competitive advantage. And it's about protecting American jobs, national security, and the future of global trade. 🚨 The time is now to put American workers, clean manufacturing, and long-term resilience first. #Manufacturing #TradePolicy #NationalSecurity #ForeignPollutionFee #IndustrialPolicy #AmericanInnovation #LevelThePlayingField

Supply security for critical minerals was at the top of the agenda at the recent SAFE Summit in Washington, D.C. I had the pleasure to join Andrea Hotter from Fastmarkets, Jose Miguel Berguño from SQM and Siddarth Subramani from Hatch on the panel “Lithium Leverage: The Importance of Western Supplies.” Key takeaways: ➡️ As planned, our first lithium project in the Smackover formation will grow domestic critical minerals supply and support the expansion of battery manufacturing in the U.S. ➡️ Customers are on board: our agreements with SK On and LG Chem signal demand for domestically sourced lithium, and support energy security with the build-out of U.S. battery supply chains. ➡️ Our Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) process is expected to have significantly less environmental impact than hard rock mining, including approximately 2/3 less carbon intensity. 1 ➡️ ExxonMobil has capabilities that can support the critical minerals national security imperative. We have expertise in project development, subsurface, and chemicals processing that we can bring to domestic lithium production. ➡️ To accelerate U.S. production, strategies are needed to level the playing field of global battery and critical mineral supply chains. I'll be joining Andrea Hotter on her podcast in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates. #SAFESummit2025 #Lithium (Footnotes and additional information at: https://lnkd.in/g-tP4bNY)
