🔝 Last week of March SEA2SEE Project partners gathered for their 6th consortium meeting to discuss progress on techologies' development and their demonstrations. 🔗Updates on traceability technologies and certain challenges we face in their integration and alignment took center stage, along with data collection tools and consumer applications. 👨👩👧👦 Stakeholder engagement initiatives within the project, including the start of the second edition of the #MOOC, ongoing seafood literacy activities and the launch of the SeaStainable kitchen book were also among the highlighted topics. SEA2SEE Project
Technology, Information and Internet
Blockchain technology for a transparent, competitive and sustainable seafood sector. Co-funded under Horizon Europe.
About us
Current seafood traceability tools and services have the potential to take advantage of novel blockchain technologies in order to obtain a wide range of data making sustainable seafood practices more visible to consumers. Sea2See project will fill in existing seafood traceability gaps through the development of an innovative end-to-end blockchain model and professional and consumer applications to increase trust and social acceptance of sustainably fished and farmed seafood. The project will provide technological solutions to answer the need for a valuable source of data collected throughout the whole seafood value chain, verified, and covering inputs from diverse stakeholders. For this purpose, a specific focus will be put on active commitment of stakeholders and real empowerment of consumers through the implementation of societal and sectoral strategies for co-creation, communication and awareness raising.

🌊Waves must win War🌊 It’s been three days of total immersion at the #EuOceanDays in Brussels, and I feel privileged to be among those witnessing this incredible effort to strengthen collaboration, drive innovation, and advance sustainability for ocean conservation—both in European waters and beyond, as part of SUBMON team and member of projects like OCEAN CITIZEN, SEA2SEE Project and BiodivOcean. In these critical times, we must reinforce our commitment to investing in conservation. The waves must prevail over war. This is a moment for the #EuropeanUnion to step up and lead a true alliance for #SDG14 with #EUOceanPact, an effort that will have a ripple effect on other goals. Because while the ocean is not always explicitly mentioned, it is a cross-cutting priority that holds the power to drive global progress. #oceanliteracy #SDG14 #generationrestoration Mission Ocean CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency EU Science, Research and Innovation European Economic and Social Committee EU Environment and Climate BlueMissionMed BlueMissionAA #OceanDecade #HorizonEurope #OceanScience #BlueEconomy #OceanLiteracy #2030Agenda #biodiversity #marinescience
