  • Starting your own business can be overwhelming, but with the right support, growth is possible. After working as an esthetician for three years, Amanda Sautel opened her own skincare business but felt “stuck” after a year. That's when Amanda began working with SCORE. Through the guidance of her mentors, she gained tools to stay organized, improve marketing and hire a bookkeeper. “As a solo business owner, I don’t have anybody I can bounce ideas off of. [My SCORE mentors] have helped me figure out other tools to stay organized and are holding me more accountable,” Amanda shared. With continued mentorship, Amanda is growing her business. April is #NationalVolunteerMonth, and SCORE proudly celebrates the impact of its 10,000 volunteers who support small business success through mentoring, training and education.
