🎤 To kick off E-Week 2025, I spoke at the Youth Leadership Summit in Newport Beach to a room of top high schoolers from around the country who are leading big initiatives & proving that your age does not limit your impact! ⚛️ I was happy to represent Science Olympiad, Inc. on the panel reviewing the students' presentations & awarding the winners! I also spoke on a panel of non-profit leaders to discuss strategies to help the students expand their initiatives from the realm of local schools to national reach. This was my first official duty as a newly minted member of Science Olympiad's national advisory board committee! ♻️ The event was sponsored by InGenius Prep, which is also a proud sponsor of the Science Olympiad! This was a great opportunity to give back to one of our sponsors and is a clear example of the positive feedback loop that exists between organizations like this. 🏅 One of the winners from the event was the SciConnect Initiative, presented by high-school junior co-founder Gordon Wong (pictured), who developed an online lesson platform based on the topic areas of Science Olympiad events. Gordon, a captain of his school's Science Olympiad team, told me that Science Olympiad has been so incredibly impactful on his life and his desire to pursue a career in STEM that he wanted to share that same passion with students who don't have the ability to participate directly in Science Olympiad. If you're looking for a co-founder for your next venture, you might not have to look very far. Happy 15th anniversary, Anne! ❤️ Anne and I first met in 2010 when we were in middle school. We grew up in a neighborhood with three Ann(ie)s, all around the same age. Coming from asian families, we were constantly compared to each other by our parents. So, we made it our mission to stand out in our own ways. Annie pursued a career in law, Anne pursued a career in engineering, and I? Well, I didn’t have much choice but to head toward medicine — it’s a bit cliché, but that’s how it went down. Being both interested in the #STEM field and living right across the street from one another, Anne and I ended up collaborating on countless projects in high school. From the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair to Science Olympiad, Inc. , we did it all. Little did we know, all of that was just training for building Cromatic. 📣 This STEM Day, we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Science Olympiad, Inc. through Ramboll’s social impact program, Flourish (co-funded by Rambøll Fonden / Ramboll Foundation). Our volunteers will support one class and/or age group at an under-resourced school in one of our four focus regions – Chicago, Los Angeles, Ann Arbor, and Syracuse. Our Ann Arbor volunteers kicked off their connection with Science Olympiad this past spring, volunteering at a local Science Olympiad tournament. “Ramboll’s partnership with Science Olympiad is a great way for us to make a difference in our local communities,” said Danielle Amber, who participated in the event last spring and acts as a point of contact for the partnership in Ann Arbor. “These kinds of programs really helped to cement my desire to go into an engineering career, and I hope the Flourish-Science Olympiad initiative will help to do similar for other kids.” Each group will receive a toolkit of 10 hands-on, student-centered, inquiry-focused STEM lessons to be completed throughout the school year. Our volunteers will receive training alongside teachers on Science Olympiad activities and hands-on instruction. Students will then compete at an end-of-year Science Olympiad Fest at their school or have an in-class STEM-focused day with our volunteers. 🔬 At Ramboll, we’re dedicated to broadening participation of underrepresented talent in our industry and ensuring a sustainable future through continued growth in the talent pipeline. Partnerships through our Flourish program are aimed at diversifying our industry and inspiring the next generation to embark on STEM careers.
