About us
Connect with curiosity. We envision an equitable and inclusive society where people are passionate about science and use it to improve lives, transform communities, and empower future generations. By creating a place where everyone can discover together, the Saint Louis Science Center is forging the future of our region. We’re putting St. Louis at the center of science, and science at the center of a more connected world. The Science Center is one of the only free nonprofit science museums in the country, and serves more than 500,000 people each year, making it one of the largest science centers in the U.S. and abroad. Our campus features hundreds of interactive experiences in ten galleries, as well as our indoor-outdoor GROW agricultural pavilion and gallery, our famous McDonnell Planetarium, and a four-story OMNIMAX® Theater. Our mission: to inspire everyone to be curious and engaged in science. At the Saint Louis Science Center, inclusion is at the heart of what we do. 💙 On #WorldAutismAwarenessDay, we celebrate accessibility and our commitment to making science welcoming for all. Through our partnership with KultureCity, our team provides sensory-friendly resources like quiet areas and sensory bags, ensuring a more comfortable visit for guests with sensory needs. Every Sunday, Sensory Friendly Science Time offers a quieter, more accessible experience for our St. Louis community. This month, as we celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth, the Science Center recognizes #STEM-sational individuals who’ve inspired us all to make an impact: ✨ Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani was an Iranian mathematician and professor at Stanford University. ➗ ✖️ She made groundbreaking contributions to the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces and was one of the world’s leaders in hyperbolic geometry, topology and dynamics. 📐 In 2014, she became the first woman and first Iranian to win the Fields Medal, considered the highest honor in mathematics.
