  • Congratulations to Dean Joseph A. Barone of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy on receiving the 2024 Bowl of Hygeia Award from the New Jersey Pharmacists Association and the American Pharmacists Association Foundation! Dean Barone’s leadership has significantly impacted pharmacy education and community health. He founded the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship Program—the largest of its kind in the country that is designed to provide training at pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies.   • Last month was the inaugural meeting of the New Jersey One Health Task Force, which aims to develop a strategic plan to promote inter-disciplinary communication and collaboration between physicians, veterinarians, and other scientific professionals and State agencies, and to promote the health and well-being of the State’s residents, animals, and the environment. New Jersey is the first state to have a One Health Task Force, and Rutgers’ own, Gloria Bachmann of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, was elected as Vice Chairperson.
