Living in a disadvantaged neighborhood may increase your risk of developing dementia, according to newly published research in Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology. “Most studies show associations on an individual level, whereas the Chicago Health and Aging Project study shows an association on the community level,” says Pankaja Desai, PhD, lead investigator and assistant professor at Rush University.
