Success at Roth&Co | Rachel Stein, CPA’s story: “Achieving one’s goals is obviously an indication of success, but helping others achieve theirs—that’s what I’ve always strived to be able to do. I think what helped me get to where I am is my passion for helping others succeed. Assisting my clients in hitting their targets, guiding my team members in climbing the ranks at the firm—that exhilarates me. And it was that passion that would come across in my interactions with my peers and with my clients that helped me gain trust, deepen my relationships, and ultimately grow to partner level. Today, I see being a partner at Roth as a serious responsibility to the team I’m privileged to work with. It means being a leader. Taking my experiences and using them to support and empower others. Of course it helps to have a team as driven as I do! Miriam Bergstein, Yanky Goldenberg, CPA, Joshua Bondy, Avromi Sokol, Rivki Rubinstein, Ami Konig, Yaki Kanevsky, Elisheva Bistricer, Tzippy Stockhammer, Eddie Cameo, Chaya Rappaport, and Tammy Ziegler. Outside Roth&Co, I joined the The JWE - The Jewish Woman Entrepreneur & Executive, an incredible community of strong, successful, and inspiring female entrepreneurs. Their mentorship, encouragement, and shared experiences have helped build my confidence and expand my professional circle, both on the giving end as well as the receiving one. Shoutout to some of my amazing JWE friends— Haya Fishman, Chagit Leviev- Sofiev, Ahuva Bosch, Talia Moshiach, Chanie Mayer-Rubin BCBA LBA, Susan Strauss, Peri Friedman, Avigail Eisenstadt, Blima Eherentrau, and Bluma Broner. My advice to budding professionals? Invest in your relationships just as you do in your skills. Take the time to network, seek out mentors, and nurture your professional community—because those relationships will guide you, uplift you, and open doors throughout your career.” See success at Roth&Co > email your resume to hr@rothcocpa.com.

I’m exhausted… but also totally exhilarated. Earlier this week, I had the chance to attend OU’s Shul Administrator Conference—and wow, what a meaningful experience. These shul execs are doing incredible work, building vibrant, welcoming communities all across the U.S. and Canada. I had the privilege of presenting on parsonage—definitely a dense topic, but the room was full of thoughtful, sharp questions that kept me on my toes. I always love diving into the practical stuff that helps communities thrive, and this group was fully engaged. Shoutout to all the amazing speakers, especially my colleague Wendy Barlin CPA Barlin, who broke down the importance of detailed financial statements in synagogue operations. As always, she made it accessible and relevant. Huge thanks to the Orthodox Union for organizing such a valuable gathering, and to everyone who attended and made it what it was. Grateful for the chance to learn, share, and connect. Tagging some of you here: Sarah Silvestri, Reva Homnick, Azi Rosenblum ☁, Frieda Kahn, Roth&Co, Rotem Harari

Long-awaited clarity from the IRS — Proposed PTEP Regulations are here. After years of uncertainty, the IRS has finally issued Proposed Regulations on Previously Taxed Earnings & Profits (PTEP) — a major development for U.S. shareholders of Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs). If you’ve dealt with Subpart F income, GILTI, or the Section 965 transition tax, you know the pain of phantom income — where tax hits before cash ever arrives, and risks double taxation when distributions are eventually made. These new regs aim to streamline PTEP tracking, reduce the risk of double taxation, and clarify basis adjustments. So… relief or more complexity? >> Click the link in the first comment to read more. What if volatility isn’t the villain – but the reason for better returns? If the stock market were as stable as a savings account, it wouldn’t return 10% over the long run. Volatility isn’t the enemy—it’s the price you pay for the opportunity to build wealth. Understanding the “Efficient Frontier” of investing shows that higher returns always come with a reason—whether it’s risk, time commitment, or, yes, volatility. Instead of fearing the ups and downs, smart investors learn to embrace them. >> Click the first link in the comments to dive deeper. Success at Roth&Co | Hillel Swerdloff’s story: “Contrary to what people think, accounting is hardly about numbers and far more about people. Working to understand clients’ needs, guiding them through new terrains—that’s really what pulled me in. As a college student I worked part-time for an unbelievable boss, Berish Fruend, who gave me the foundation for everything I now know about the industry. And it was thanks to his connections with the partners at Roth&Co that kickstarted my career here. I was privileged to work under the leadership of Leah Loeb and Heshy Katz—2 of the reasons I got to where I am today. Leah has guided me since day one, teaching me about how to interact with clients and motivate staff. Heshy’s work mindset is one which I adopt to this day: “Find out what your clients’ expectations are, clearly tell them yours, and surpass them all.” Throughout my career here I was continuously given bigger clients to work with, more responsibility to shoulder and more team members to guide, until I was promoted to supervisor. One thing I learned early on at Roth&Co was this: In order to properly service and guide your clients you need to really understand them and their businesses. When you have a really good grip on that, it takes just a glance to spot a mistake in their documents. It’s like seeing your name misspelled.” See success at Roth&Co > email your resume to hr@rothcocpa.com. #SeeSuccess #Roth&Co #CareerGrowth #AccountingCareers

Success at Roth&Co | Moshe (Marc) Gelbtuch, CPA, CFF’s story: “The accounting field was attractive to me because I perceived it to be a stable profession. Over time, as clients at Roth&Co faced new challenges and needed expanded services, I saw an opportunity to grow alongside them. I discovered areas where we, as a firm, could provide more value—whether through strategic guidance or specialized solutions. Eventually, after spearheading numerous new client services, I founded Roth&Co’s Advisory Department. To me, success means being able to fuel your clients’ growth and your own growth simultaneously. It means caring deeply about the clients you work with, and the firm you work for. My advice to those starting out, is not to get discouraged by the slow and steady growth process. As quick and effortless as so much of life has become, climbing within your profession will always require patience and perseverance.” See success at Roth&Co > email your resume to hr@rothcocpa.com.
