The Y Community Development Corp (YCDC), the community development branch of the YMCA, is proud to support our mission through affordable housing initiatives and neighborhood revitalization in the City of York. We’re excited to share that YCDC was awarded funding through DCED’s Main Street Matters grant program! This funding will support our ongoing street light efforts—bringing much-needed street lights to Newberry and Philadelphia Streets. Improving walkability and safety in our neighborhoods is a vital step toward making York a safer place for everyone. We’re grateful for this opportunity to continue investing in the communities we serve. https://lnkd.in/esdfwwMv

Last night, we gathered for Demo in the Grove to celebrate the Roth’s Church Community Partnership and the future of our Spring Grove YMCA! This event marked an exciting step forward as we continue building a space where community, wellness, and opportunity come together. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, including community members, YMCA staff, project partners, and YMCA board members, for sharing in this special moment! During the event, Larry Richardson, CEO/President of YMCA of the Roses, reflected on the project's history, timeline, and the power of partnerships in making this vision a reality. James Sanders, Board Chair of the YMCA of the Roses; Dr. Joseph Bradley, Superintendent of Spring Grove School District; and Kate King, Branch Executive of the Spring Grove YMCA, also shared their excitement for what’s ahead and expressed gratitude for the community’s support. A special thank you to Wagman for lending us some hammers and hard hats—our little builders had a blast knocking down the wall and being part of the action! Stay tuned for more updates as we bring new opportunities and beloved programs to our community. And be sure to follow the Spring Grove YMCA's Facebook page for the latest news!

Earlier this month, our Y-Achievers students from City Center YMCA had an exciting hands-on experience at the Precision Cobotics, Robotic WorX – The Solutions Lab at Millersville University of Pennsylvania! They toured the lab, explored classrooms in Osburn Hall, and even had the chance to interact with a robot. Y-Achievers is a college preparatory program designed to help teens and young adults prepare for their futures through career exploration, college tours, mentoring, leadership development, and more.
