  • FLY Government Day Recap! 🌟 Last month our students spent the day immersed in local government and civic leadership. We kicked things off with a discussion on Controversy with Civility, then reviewed a grant simulation to prep for reviewing 11 (possibly 12!) real grant applications. They’ll soon decide how to allocate $20,000 in funding! 💼 Students observed a York County Commissioners’ Meeting, where they saw Robert’s Rules in action and learned about managing a $700 million county budget. Over lunch—generously sponsored by C.S. Davidson, Inc.—they connected with elected officials including judges, the district attorney, commissioners, and more at Marketview Arts. 👥🍽️ The day wrapped up with a tour of the Judicial Center and time in the courtroom observing plea hearings with Judge Adams. We’re so proud of these future changemakers! 📚
