"There were so many moments when I was spiraling at 10 p.m. on a Tuesday, and my therapy appointment wasn’t until Thursday." That's what I shared with Lesley McClurg for her recent KQED story on AI and mental health. That feeling — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗮𝗽 — is exactly what inspired Rosebud. For many, that gap isn’t just a few days.  It’s weeks, months, or even 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹. 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. Not as a replacement for therapy—but as something that can meet us those many 𝘪𝘯-𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘯 moments that would otherwise be met with silence. Rosebud doesn’t aim to digitize the traditional model of care. Our goal is to make support more 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, and 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲—designed for how we actually live today. The most important predictor of success isn’t IQ. And it's not your degree. It’s your ability to navigate emotions—both yours and others’. Which means 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗘𝗤) 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲. According to our conversation with Dr. Steph Catella, PsyD, a clinical psychologist specializing in emotional intelligence, IQ measures how fast you process information. How well you retain short-term memory. How sharp your cognitive abilities are. But IQ alone can’t solve the biggest challenges in work and life. 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆’𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹. And yet, we keep putting IQ on a pedestal. Here’s the truth: 💡 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗤 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 teams with high IQ. 💡 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗤 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁 their people. 💡 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗘𝗤 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 in crisis, change, and uncertainty. How do you know if someone has strong emotional intelligence? Ask yourself: ↳ Can they sit with difficult emotions without reacting impulsively? ↳ Do they listen to understand—or just to respond? ↳ Are they aware of how their emotions impact others? ↳ Can they communicate effectively under stress? ↳ Do they create a space where people feel safe to express themselves? 10 vital traits emotionally intelligent people master: 1. Self-awareness 2. Emotional regulation 3. Empathy 4. Active listening 5. Conflict resolution 6. Adaptability 7. Stress management 8. Open-mindedness 9. Compassion 10. Resilience What would you add? ♻ Repost to challenge the outdated idea that IQ is everything. Watch Dr. Stephanie Catella break it down in this video. 🎥

If anyone is looking for a free service to help with your mental health, I can highly recommend Rosebud - the #AI journal for personal growth. Sean Dadashi is co-founder of Rosebud. Born to Iranian parents who emigrated to the US after the revolution in 1979, Sean grew up in Los Angeles and was on a path of studying mechanical engineering before he switched courses after a year to study Cognitive Science with a minor in Computer Science. He then became a CTO before starting his own company - Somatic Studios in 2016 – where he used his passion for both tech and wellbeing to experiment with ideas including a web app that provided a health and wellness index for over 160 cities across 6 continents. The studio also developed VR experiences to teach pain management patients mindfulness and somatic therapy techniques. After Somatic, Sean then joined up with Chrys Bader who you may have heard of because he previously co-founded several startups including Treehouse and Secret. Together, Sean and Chris have created Rosebud – the number one AI-powered journal for mental health and personal growth and a product I highly recommend. In this conversation, Sean and I discuss the loneliness epidemic, the importance of good mental health, his passion for helping others, and how he has always leaned towards the marriage of psychology and the human mind with technology and his passion for creating things, which ultimately led to Rosebud. Started using the Rosebud journaling app, and today's affirmation really resonated with me. As someone with ADHD, I constantly grapple with managing symptoms at work. While some call it a superpower, for me, it can feel like kryptonite. The emotional intelligence it brings is a strength, but it can also lead to trusting people too quickly. I'm working with an ADHD & Careers counselor to find more effective ways to manage my symptoms and thrive in the workplace. Looking forward to the journey ahead! #ADHD #neurodiversity #mentalhealthawareness #workplacewellness #careeradvice

In honor of Father’s Day this Sunday, we’ve launched a new guided journal, My Father and Me, made in collaboration with Andrew Horn—a social entrepreneur, author, and the founder of Tribute, a platform for creating collaborative video montages for the people you love. This journal is designed to not only help you reflect on your father’s role in your life, but also to help you consciously choose what traits, characteristics, and values from him you want to carry forward into your future and pass on to the next generation.   As a part of this collaboration, Andrew has graciously offered our community 20% off any purchase on Tribute using code “Rosebud”. I had such a fun time filming this podcast episode with Rosebud. We covered a lot of ground in a short span: what is emotional hijacking? How does emotional intelligence impact our relationships? How do difficulties with emotional intelligence affect us in the workplace? And so much more. You can find the full episode below: https://lnkd.in/gJbMF3ep
