🧠 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: What Real DeepTech Conversations Look Like Two weeks ago in Amsterdam, over breakfast and bold ideas, we brought together LPs, GPs, co-investors, and DeepTech pioneers for a roundtable that was anything but surface-level. 📍𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱: → India’s DeepTech gap: Despite global-caliber talent, India has <5 early-stage DeepTech VCs → Operational capital vs. passive capital: The future belongs to VCs who build with, not just back founders → Valley of Death in DeepTech: We discussed real strategies to navigate multi-stage R&D-heavy ventures that often require multiple infusions before commercial traction → When to exit outliers: Do you hold a paper unicorn in a down market or take a haircut for liquidity? We debated the nuance between partial exits vs patient capital. Huge thanks to everyone who joined us and made this conversation so rich and real: Ankit Anand Lino Gandola Gaurav Lakhwani Rajiv Mehra Farid Haque Aleksanteri Tuomainen Rebecca Sjödin Matteo F. C. Tejas Mehta Aditya (Adi) Raj Werner Fischer Karan Setiya Michelle Berger🎗️Adriano Michieli Yogesh Sharma Anmol Goel Prashant Salve Kislay Kanth Alexander Morari, MRICS Arohi Jain Pavel Cholakov Ytsen van der Meer Satyajit Mohanan — your insights added real depth to the dialogue. 🎙️ 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼-𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝘁𝗲: “𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴, 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘢 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦. Between insight and action. Between capital and conviction. Between global DeepTech ambition and Indian founder brilliance. The Event : We’re here to build. And we’re here early — before the world catches on. More of such events are coming soon in Berlin, Zurich and Basel. 👇 What do you think of DeepTech funding in India today? Are we underplaying our potential — or right on the edge of something exponential? 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀? That question from Union Minister Piyush Goyal wasn’t criticism—it was clarity. And we’re very, very glad he brought it up. India has done incredibly well in building out E-commerce, Foodtech, and D2C brands. They’ve contributed significantly to job creation, economic activity, and consumer access. But that’s not where it ends. India’s startup ecosystem has matured. Capital is flowing. Founders are ambitious. There’s no reason why Deep Tech can’t be the next frontier. And this is exactly the direction we’ve been moving in since day one. At 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬, we’ve always believed in backing Indian innovation where it truly matters—deep tech. → 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 → 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 We’re proud to support pioneers like: → Ethereal Exploration Guild → Manastu Space These are not just companies. They’re examples of what’s possible when Indian founders build for the future. Goyal’s remarks reflect what we’ve always believed. India is more than capable of leading in deep tech. We’re excited to see this conversation go mainstream. And we’re looking forward to more founders and investors aligning around this shared vision. Because the next decade belongs to those who build, and India is ready. #RicebergVentures #AI #DeepTech #SpaceTech #Cybersecurity #Lifesciences #VC #Cleanenergy

Fresh from Davos, our founder Ankit made a spontaneous decision to attend the 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 —and it was worth it. Thanks to an invitation from the Center of Policy Research and Governance (𝗖𝗣𝗥𝗚) and Parikshit Dhume, the event was an incredible opportunity to engage in critical conversations about 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵—a topic that matters deeply to us at 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴. Key Takeaways from the Summit: → 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: President Macron and Prime Minister Modi co-chaired the event, emphasizing the need for AI to drive 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀. PM Modi’s offer to host next year’s summit in India was a major highlight. → 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗔𝗜 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲: The EU announced a €𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 to accelerate AI development, signaling a new era post-DeepSeek. → 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝗺: Sundar PichaiSundar Pichai, Sam Altman, US Vice President JD Vance, and EU President Ursula Von Meyer were among the influential voices shaping the conversation. Beyond the panels and policy discussions, one thing stood out—𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹. The real advantage lies in 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. That shift opens the door for 𝗻𝗲𝘄-𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀, and at 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗴, we are 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆. 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱.
