Last week, several women leaders from Related Companies and Related California came together to celebrate Hailey Sarage, Senior Vice President of Development at Related Companies, on receiving the Innovative Executive Award at the 2025 Bevy Leadership Awards. It was a memorable evening celebrating with the women who are shaping the future of our industry including our very own Executive Vice President of Related California Phoebe Huei Yee, who serves as Board Chair Elect of the Beverly Willis Architecture Foundation (BWAF).

Each year, The Related Affordable Foundation awards several college scholarships to affordable housing residents across the country. Hear from two of this year’s recipients, Aidan Moreira-Brown and Allen McLean - both residents of Manhattan Plaza, New York - about how they’re pursuing their academic dreams in college, and how the scholarship is helping them in their journeys.

This National Volunteer Month, we’re proud to recognize Kim Sherman Stamler, President of Related Beal, who was recently honored by the American Red Cross of Massachusetts as the recipient of the organization’s prestigious Heritage Award.   “Kim’s passion for giving back to the community shines through in every interaction,” said Holly Grant, CEO of the Red Cross of Massachusetts. “Through her work at Related Beal, she’s tackled important issues like a lack of affordable housing in Boston. I’ve also had the honor of handing out groceries and school supplies side-by-side with Kim and her family at our Boston Food Pantry. Her heart is all in, and she is truly a servant leader.”

Yesterday, Related Companies and CityPickle marked the official start of pickleball season at Wollman Rink NYC in Central Park. For three years, Related Companies has been part of Wollman Park Partners , the group managing and operating Wollman Rink on behalf of NYC Parks, with a goal of expanding community partnerships and access to year-round programming in the iconic Rink.   Terence Degnan, Head of Parkinson’s Pickleball Programming, shared his personal story navigating his diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease, and how a suggestion from his neurologist led him to not just play pickleball, but ultimately become a coach with CityPickle.    Thank you to everyone who came out for a wonderful day of community play. Yesterday, the Related California team, Related COO Ken Wong, and local elected officials from the City of Santa Clara celebrated the kick off of The Clara District with the grand opening of The Clara Residences and Ellore Senior Living, as well as the dedication of the city’s newest public park. The new neighborhood will bring thousands of units of market-rate, senior, and affordable housing, abundant public space, and opportunities for retail and entertainment businesses to the heart of Santa Clara. 

Last Friday, the National Public Housing Museum opened its doors in Chicago, Illinois. Developed in partnership with the Chicago Housing Authority, the museum is also home to 15 affordable residences developed by Related Midwest. This Saturday, Brent Cross Town will be marking the arrival of spring at Clitterhouse Farm with free, family-friendly events. A series of green workshops will celebrate the 84 new trees being planted at Clitterhouse Playing Fields, including making wildflower seed bombs, crafting bird feeders, and sowing a meadow with wildflowers.
