🌍 Leading the Way in Environmental Stewardship 🌍 Long-time journalist Patti Payne sat down with Elizabeth Schenk, chief environmental stewardship officer, to discuss the work we’re doing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimize landfill waste, use food resources wisely, improve energy efficiency, prepare for extreme weather events and collaborate to lead environmental stewardship efforts at the national level. Why it matters: Health care makes up 8.5% of our nation’s annual greenhouse gas emissions, and we take this seriously because such pollution directly harms health. We are deeply concerned about the negative impacts of climate change, toxic chemicals, biodiversity loss and other environmental issues on health.
