We are delighted to be working with our partners in Australia to create new Project SEARCH sites!
Project SEARCH at UnitingCare Queensland has kicked-off 2025 with great excitement thanks to an inspiring visit from one of the program’s original co-founders! Travelling from the United States where Project SEARCH began in 1996 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Co-Founder and Director, Susie, and Program Specialist, Joy, visited Buderim Private Hospital and our colleagues at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital this month to see first-hand how the program is benefiting young adults with disability right here in Queensland. Over the past three decades, Project SEARCH has expanded to more than 783 programs across nine countries, including to UnitingCare where the program began at The Wesley Hospital in 2019 and has since become an invaluable part of so many areas of our organisation. We’ve already been able to support more than 50 interns to gain real work experience in our hospitals and they join an incredible group of more than 50,000 worldwide who have participated in Project SEARCH. Most importantly, we’re always looking for more interns to join us! We’re currently recruiting interns to join Project SEARCH on the Sunshine Coast at Buderim Private Hospital and in Hervey Bay at St Stephen's Hospital. If you know someone whose potential needs an opportunity so they can shine, please reach out to us at projectsearch@uccommunity.org.au or visit our website to learn more https://lnkd.in/dFfHYeTV A big and heartfelt thank you to Susie and Joy for visiting us at Buderim. Your wisdom and expertise have inspired us for the Project SEARCH year ahead! #StAndrews #ProjectSearch

We are excited to welcome the Navajo Nation community of Shiprock, NM to the Project SEARCH family! "The MolinaCares Accord ("MolinaCares"), in collaboration with Molina Healthcare of New Mexico (“Molina”), has partnered with Project SEARCH to bring its employment training program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to Shiprock, a community of the Navajo Nation. Through the MolinaCares for Families initiative, Molina donated $20,000 to Project SEARCH in late 2022 to support the opening of a project site that will benefit the Native American youth population in the rural, majority Tribal area of the state." https://lnkd.in/gMTURswy
