Members of our Ambler team had a great time at last week’s ISPE Delaware Valley Chapter (ISPE DVC) golf outing. Our foursome enjoyed a fun day on the course and capped it off with a lively happy hour reception. We always look forward to this annual event- thank you to the ISPE DVC Chapter for hosting another fantastic outing!

This week, our Cary team enjoyed a fantastic day on the green at the annual ISPE-CaSA RTP golf outing, with beautiful weather and even better company. Thank you to those who stopped at the Precis canopy to hang with our crew and participate in the Marshmallow Drive. Congrats to the winners on their longest traveling marshmallows! We had a blast and are already looking forward to next year!

#EarthWeek Project Spotlight: Confidential Laboratory HVAC Upgrade, OH On this project, the Precis mechanical team was tasked with replacing air handling units and exhaust fans for three vivarium suites in the existing building. Originally, these suites consisted of individual, constant volume air handling units per room. The design included the consolidation of each suite into a single, central-station air handling unit allowing for improved maintainability and accessibility. The replacement air handling units are now more energy efficient due to the inclusion of energy recovery and the implementation of high-efficiency control strategies such as variable speed fan control, ventilation setback, and discharge temperature reset. This effort is projected to save the client nearly $20,000/yr in operating costs.   This project is just one example of how Precis has pushed the envelope on a standard project design to help clients improve energy efficiency and decrease operating costs. In celebration of #EarthDay 2025, we are thrilled to announce that Precis has officially joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This commitment marks a significant milestone on our dedicated journey towards achieving our #sustainability goals. The Science Based Targets initiative is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies worldwide to play their part in combating climate change. The organization develops standards, tools and guidance which allow companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global warming below detrimental levels and reach net-zero by 2050. Participating companies set goals and work toward company-wide net-zero emissions in line with climate science with the SBTi. As of 2025, over 10,000 companies have set or committed to set science-based climate targets validated by the organization. In joining the SBTi, we are fully committed to implementing actionable steps that align with the global standards for reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental stewardship. Our team is energized and ready to contribute to a greener future, ensuring that our practices not only have a positive impact on the planet, but also benefit our many clients who share the same goal. Lead by Precis Director – Process Architecture and Sustainability, Veera Ronalter, RA, LEED AP BD+C and Precis Project Manager, Marc Sano, PE, CEM, this initiative was implemented as part of the 2025 Precis Sustainability Program launched earlier this year. “Selecting a super-efficient, fully electric LEED Platinum building, the Ambler Boiler House, as our main office has put us one step ahead of the game in carbon reduction. Precis' Cary, NC office is also fully electric, thus we have eliminated all scope 1 emissions and are ready to tackle reducing scope 2 emissions. Aligning our carbon emission reduction goals with SBTi is a natural next step as we work towards a sustainable future,” said Ronalter.
